It was pointed out to me yesterday that we haven't had a draw in some time. In fact, our last one was in the away match to Valladolid (0-0) on 4th December. Since then we've played 21 games, winning 17 and losing 4. A score draw or better would give Valladolid a better head-to-head record than us. So if it's going to be a draw, let it be 0-0.

Deportivo: More injury problems: Salomão out of the clash with Valladolid due to tear in the Obturator internus muscle (pubis). Aranzubia is also doubtful due to an Achilles injury on his right foot. So, Depor may play against Valladolid without Aranzubia, Colotto, Ze Castro, Aythami, Bruno Gama, Guardado, Riki & Salomão.

I thought Zé Castro, Aythami and Guardado would be ready by this weekend? How is their progress going?

With Saul we should have someone to cover for Salomao, who wasn't really that great this weekend. Aythami or Rochela in defense is worrying me though, especially if they both have to play next to each other.

The team trains until Wednesday, then we will know if they are fit to play.

Well, Oltra did said a couple of weeks ago the bench warmers would probably end up being the final key to lock up the promotion and the championship. Guess he knew this was coming.

even if they dont play we have a decent squad left for Segunda level.. Saul & P. Alvarez on the wings, and my only concern is about who will join Rochela in the center of defence..

don't blame Saul he didn't not play for along time

I feel that this match is going to be explosive for the substitues !! they will do it and win the match

When did I blame Saul? I said he should be a fine substitute for Salomao

As long as Guardado is ready to play, I'm keeping faith.

This match is an extremely rare 7-points game. If we lose, Valladolid will only be 2 points behind us, and they'll beat us on goal average, so they only need 2 points more than us to catch us. If we win however, we set them back 8 points, and beat them on goal average, so then they'll need 9 points to catch us.

If we win this one, we can already start preparing the festivities. And even if we lose, we still remain favorites to finish first, because I'd say we have the easiest schedule. As today's article on the website says, our last 6 games of the season are all against teams who should have nothing left to play for. And most of these teams are already starting to drag themselves to the end of the season, playing poorly and dropping points.

I was extremely pissed off after our game against Almeria, but perhaps we're exaggerating a bit. Pretty much every time the team has lost, we responded with a win in the next game. And we've won our last 13 games at home. 14, if you include our Copa win against Levante. Valladolid has been getting some good results lately, but they haven't been thát particularly impressive in the last three matchdays. Then there's also the fact that a draw wouldn't be such a bad result for us. It keeps Valladolid and Celta both at 5 points, assuming Celta will beat Cartagena, with just 18 points left in dispute. Our players are perfectly aware how important this game is, and well, so far Depor hasn't really disappointed in the really big games. Yes we played a terrible game at Almeria and lost, but well, it wasn't a must-win anyway. Let's move on and be optimistic.

maybe yes, but Valladolid has more or less a primera squad...

Reading Depooooooor's starting eleven (even without a LB) makes me quite worrying. We need Dani and Ze for the draw, and Guardado for the win...

Hey Greg, in Spain it is head-to-head that decides on equal points, doesn't it?
