MATCHDAY 12: BIG DAY FOR THE LEADERS

Both Unionistas and Burgos achieved great results and solidified their positions at the top of the standings. Deportivo extended their winless streak.
After several delays caused by the pandemic, matchday 12 was the first one in 2021 in which all the 10 games at group 1 were played. Both subgroups are following a similar path as the competition is high for all the positions with the exception of the leadership. And it’s that Unionistas continue to have a six-point lead at subgroup 1, while Burgos CF extended their lead to five points in subgroup 2.
SUBGROUP 1
4 of the 5 games in the matchday ended in a draw. Unionistas de Salamanca survived at the Riazor and clinched a goalless draw that allows them to keep the six-point distance at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, the drama for Deportivo continues as the Galicians extended their negative streak to six games without wins, and now they are out of the promotion zone.
The only winner was SD Compostela in an exciting game against Coruxo FC, they were winning 2-0 at half-time, then the score was 2-2 and the game ended 3-2. The victory allows SD Compostela to enter into the promotion zone.
Zamora CF remain second despite dropping two points in the home game against Racing Ferrol (1-1). Pontevedra CF also dropped two important points, they had the advantage in the scoresheet during big part of the game at Celta B, but a late goal left the score in a 1-1. Pontevedra CF is now in the relegation zone.

SUBGROUP 2
Leaders Burgos CF clinched an important victory in the visit to UP Langreo (1-2), thanks to this result they extended the lead at the top of the standings to five points. Meanwhile, Valladolid Promesas jumped into the second position thanks to their 1-3 win at CD Covadonga.
Club Marino de Luanco left the drop zone in a dramatic way, by minute 85 they were trailing 0-1 in the home game with Real Oviedo B and they ended winning 2-1. The other two games in the subgroup ended in draws. Cultural Leonesa could only add a point at home against CD Lealtad (0-0), while CD Numancia did the same hosting Sporting Gijón B (1-1).

MATCHDAY 13: ONGOING
The leaders will have the chance to extend their positive streaks. After a couple of tough games, Burgos CF are now entertaining a CD Covadonga that’s in relegation. Trickier is the match for Unionistas, side that host Celta B, but Los Charros have only lost once in the season and are playing at home. Meanwhile, Deportivo are still dragging their miseries and will visit a Coruxo FC that’s also pressed to add the three points.
