36% of the goals leaked by Depor on the current season have occurred within the last twenty five minutes of the matches, this means between the 65th and the 90th minute. That's what the statistics demonstrates. A new data that proves that Depor needs to increase its mental condition during the last part of the encounters.

It has been highly discussed that the new system implemented by Lotina is too demanding for the players in a physical and a mental aspect, the same Basque coach believes that Depor must improve its physical condition in order to solve some small details like the position in which the team is starting to put pressure to the rival. Now new statistics demonstrates that Depor might be losing its stamina before the end of the matches.

Because the 36% of the goals (13 of 36) allowed by the Galician squad have occurred within the last twenty five minutes of the liga and copa encounters. The percentage is really equal making the comparison between both parts (44% of the goals have been allowed in the first half and 56% in the second part), but this reasonable proportion is broken taking a look to the goals leaked during the last minutes:

As the table demonstrates, Deportivo has received 13 of the 36 goals allowed so far (34 in liga and 2 in copa) starting at the 65th minute. In two occasions the squad allowed a goal at the 88th minute -against Osasuna and Almer?a- while one goal has been leaked at the 65th minute -against Villarreal- this are the limits of the study. No goals have been leaked during the stoppage time. The deciding goal of Espanyol in copa didn't count since it occurred in extra-time.

The table also demonstrates that Depor lost 9 of the 12 matches in which Lotina's team allowed a 'late goal'. The only occasions in which the team clinched a point was in 1-1 draw in copa with Espanyol, the 3-1 win over Valladolid and the 1-1 draw with Getafe. Curiously this last two games are the last two played at the Riazor.  Another thing to notice is that six of the last seven goals leaked by Depor have exactly occurred in this period of time.

Despite that some people might think this situation is caused for physical problems in the squad derived from the change in the strategy, the reality is that there are no clear reasons to explain this behaviour. It's true that Depor has allowed two 'late goals' in two of the three games in which Lotina has changed the system into a figure with five defenders, but it doesn't explain the cases in which Depor was playing with the 'normal' 4-2-3-1. Besides, the other clubs in Primera Divisi??n presents similar cases with the exceptions of Zaragoza, Mallorca Real Madrid (they allow more goal in the first 15 minutes); Villarreal and Betis (they allow more goals between the 16th and the 30th minute).
