PREVIEW: DEPORTIVO – GUIJUELO (LIGA)

14 Feb 2021
The emergency at Deportivo continues, the coach makes changes and has all the players available. Guijuelo also need the points and arrive to the Riazor in the middle of a busy schedule.

Referee: Gonzalo Sáiz Pérez
Kick-off: 17h00 CET (Riazor)

STATISTICS: LACK OF GOAL
Deportivo have spent 513 minutes without scoring a goal in the league competition and has now an average of 0.53 goals per game, only four clubs at Segunda B have a worse average: Peña Deportiva (0.38), Getafe B (0.41), Prat (0.5) and Las Palmas Atlético (0.5).

Depor is also one of the two teams in the entire league that hasn’t scored yet in 2021, the other club is CD Lealtad from subgroup 2. Neither CD Guijuelo is in a good situation, Los Chacineros have only won one game on this campaign and it was in matchday 03 as they defeated Salamanca UDS (2-0).

DEPORTIVO: MORE CHANGES
Deportivo remain scoreless and therefor winless, so coach Rubén de La Barrera will continue to make changes. According to his version, it isn’t a drastic change despite he is switching the draw (not passing from rap to rock according his words), but there will be novelties, starting with the fact that the expected draw is now a 4-3-3.

Team news: For the first time since starting the season, the coach has all the players available for the game. Lucho García is back, though he will be wearing a mask (nasal fracture). The 22 players at the squad were picked. Adri Castro, who was a starter against Coruxo, was left out and will play with Fabril.

Man to watch: Claudio Beauvue. It has been a disappointing season for the French striker, he was even left out of the roster for the past game at CD Guijuelo, and now goes directly into the starting eleven as Depor is desperate to score some goals.

Picked players: (22) Carlos Abad, Lucho García (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, Jorge Valín, Borja Granero, Derik Osede, Mujaid Sadick, Salva Ruiz, Héctor Hernández (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Celso Borges, Uche Agbo, Yago Gandoy, Diego Villares, Keko Gontán, Nacho González, Borja Galán, José Lara (midfielders); Miku, Raí Nascimento, Rayco Rodríguez & Claudio Beauvue (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-3-3) Carlos Abad – Valín, Mujaid, Borja Granero, Héctor Hernández –Borges, Uche Agbo, Villares - Keko, Beauvue, Raí.

GUIJUELO: CRUCIAL TIMES
CD Guijuelo had big problems with the pandemic at the start of the year, they had several positive cases with COVID-19 and had to postpone three games, and now they will recover those meetings in a frame of two weeks. So, the team, which is currently the last place at the standings, will play six games in fifteen days, in other words the salvation will be at stake and defended in a very short period of time. And they will do it with a new coach as Chuchi Jorqués arrived in Monday in a desperate attempt to at least avoid a double relegation.

Team news: The casualties for injury reasons are midfielder Manu Molina (toe) and attacker Lolo Plá (patellar tendon).  The coach has stated that he will make some rotations, but that he won’t modify the 3-5-2 system used in the goalless draw at Pontevedra CF.

Man to watch: Midfielder Mohamed Kamal. In order to succeed, the 3-5-2 formation of CD Guijuelo needs pressure at midfield, something that has always affected Deportivo on this season, and the key man for the job is this Moroccan player, one of the eight men at the squad that have taken part in the ten games disputed on this season.

Picked players: (20) José Antonio Salcedo, Vincentas Šarkauskas (goalkeepers); Raúl Parra, Razvan Ochirosii, Dan Ojog, Lucas Puime, Jonathan Martín, Mounir Errahaly, Josín Martínez, Kike Pina (defenders); Carlos Rubén, Mohamed Kamal, Cristóbal Gil, Fernando Pérez ‘Deco’, Andi Bogdan, Isma Cerro (midfielders); Abraham Pozo, Alain Eizmendi, Antonio Pino, Miguel Fernández & Damián Zamorano (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (3-5-2) Salcedo –Josín, Jonathan Martin – Raúl Parra, Cristóbal Gil, Kamal, Pozo, Kike Pina - Carlos Rubén, Antonio Pino.
