Painful defeat for Depor Ladies, the gals needed the points to keep the track of the permanence, but what they found at La Gaunas was a big score facing a direct rival for the salvation.

Coach Manu Sánchez decided to repeat the lineup of the victory over Rayo Vallecano. The only player out for injury reasons was winger Carolina Arbeláez, who was operated during the week from her lumbago problem.  The lineup was a 4-3-3 figure with Depor Ladies B Eva Dios repeating at the starting lineup.

It was a terrible weekend for Depor Ladies, the results of the direct rivals were pushing the gals to win this game, this in order to keep the distance with salvation, especially taking in mind that the next games are against Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. But what they found was a big loss, an undeserved score for what as saw on the pitch. The team is now back at the bottom of the standings.

Not a good start for Depor Ladies in the game, the locals scored in their first -and only arrival- in the first half through Ida Guehai and after a great pass from Jade Sayo. Since that point in the game, the Galicians had the ball possession, but they had big problems to create scoring opportunities.

It was until minute 35 that the gals had a clear chance to score. It was an attempt of Athenea that local goalie Pamela Tajonar cleared. There was more pressure within the final five minutes of the first part, and Depor Ladies had a couple of opportunities through corner-kicks, but the visiting side didn’t seize these chances.

If the first half started with a goal from EDF Logroño, the second part had the same start as Elloh Amon doubled the advantage for the locals after collecting a new pass from Jade Sayo. Depor Ladies reacted after the firs goal, but after the second they just sank on the pitch.

And it’s that the locals started to dominate the actions and they were close to score the third goal in a double action for Jade Sayo and Ida Guehai (55’). The first chance for Depor Ladies in the second half was a direct free-kick of Alba Merino that missed the target (62’).

Manu Sánchez moved the bench for the final twenty minutes, Michelle Romero replaced Eva Dios, then Lady Andrade replaced Alba Merino. Depor Ladies managed to have a late reaction, they started to have the ball and should have scored at minute 77, but the attempt of Gaby hit the post, and to make things worse the locals found the third goal in a counterattack through Inés Altamira. It was hard hit as now EDF Logroño won the series (Depor Ladies won 2-1 in the first round).
