EIGHT MONTHS WITHOUT A COMEBACK

20 Feb 2008
Deportivo is one of the four teams in Primera Divisi??n that haven't achieved a comeback in the score during the present season, the last one for Depor occurred eight months ago at Montjuic against the next rival in la liga: RCD Espanyol. Curiously, it was the last game of Caparr??s with the Galician squad.

One of the keys for the poor season at Deportivo is the incapacity to complete a comeback when the squad is losing a match. A fact that occurred once again to Lotina's squad during the 2-3 defeat against Recreativo. The Galician side scored the first goal of the match, but the Andalucians replied with two goals in five minutes, despite that Riki tied the things, Depor ended with a new defeat.

And its that Deportivo hasn't been able to achieve a comeback in the score during the present season, the Galicians have been in disadvantage in sixteen of the twenty four matches played so far. Depor lost twelve of those games, while the other four games ended in a draw: 2-2 Vs. Valladolid, 1-1 Vs. Mallorca, 2-2 Vs. Athletic Bilbao and 1-1 Vs. Zaragoza.

The last time that Depor won a match after been losing in the score occurred eight months ago (June 17th 2007). It was during the last match of the past campaign, the one that also meant the last game of Caparr??s at Deportivo. And it was against the next rival in la liga: RCD Espanyol. The Catalans took the lead in the score thanks to a penalty from Tamudo, but Iago, Sergio and Riki responded with the three goals that gave the victory to the visitors.

The other three teams in Primera Divisi??n that haven’t achieved a comeback in the score during this season are Almer?a, Zaragoza and Murcia. Even last-place Levante has been able to do it in three occasions: the 4-3 over Betis, the 3-2 Vs. Murcia and the last win over Osasuna (2-1).
