XISCO FIT TO PLAY AGAINST VALENCIA

06 Mar 2008
The news on Thursday's training session was to see the return of Xisco. On Wednesday, doctor Lario didn't know if the Mallorcan would be ready for the game at Mestalla, but the striker has progressed from his adductor problem. Who isn't fit yet is De Guzmn, the Canadian still dealing with muscular problems, while Uruguayan Muna suffered a knee sprain during the session.

Thursday's training session had a positive news: the return of Xisco. The Mallorcan striker missed the last match in liga against Sevilla after he suffered a muscular injury during the past Thursday (adductor), doctor Lario said on Wednesday that he wasn't sure if the striker will be fit for Sunday's clash at Mestalla, but Xisco trained without any problem on Thursday. Meaning he can be a starter for the confrontation against Valencia.

And the striker was happy for it, as Xisco said after the training: "I was missing to make a normal training, and not been working outside the group." Despite his return, Xisco didn't want to comment his chances of been a starter on Sunday's game, he just preferred to appoint this is a decision that should be taken by the coach.

Who is now the main worry in the team is Julian De Guzmn, the Canadian didn't train on Thursday since he still struggling with a problem in his right leg (also an adductor injury). Coach Lotina said after the session that doctors don't know yet if the midfielder will be ready for Sunday's confrontation "He is the one facing the most complicate situation for the game at Mestalla, we will wait, doctors have said that he isn't discarded yet, let's see how he comes tomorrow."

And the 'plague' of injuries continued with Gustavo Muna. The Uruguayan keeper suffered a knee sprain during the training and he's doubtful for the game against Valencia. With Aouate staying as the starting choice, the possible casualty of Muna could mean the return of Fabricio to the first team. Fabricio was the starting keeper of Fabril during its last defeat against Real Madrid Castilla (1-2).

INSCRIBED FOR THE INTERTOTO
The club informed through canaldeportivo.com its inscription for the next Intertoto cup, tournament that will be disputed between July 19 and 29. Spain will enjoy of a spot for the competition (it has to be a inscribed club ending between the 7th and the 10th place in the regular season), this club enters into the tournament during the third round, meaning it only needs two games in order to win a spot for the next UEFA spot.

But and additional team might join the format depending of the other participants. The main access list of competing teams is dependent on the number of associations that wish to participate. Forty-nine associations have one place each in principle, but if an association declines to enter a side, its berth can be allocated by UEFA to another nation. And that club winning the spot needs to be inscribed in the pre-list.

THE DOUBTS CONTINUE AT VALENCIA
Carlos Marchena and Fernando Morientes didn't took part of Thursday's training session at Valencia and now their participation in the game against Depor is almost discarded. Coach Koeman didn't tested any possible line-up and the doubts continue about what team will be the selected one in order to face Lotina's squad. The main doubts is who will perform in midfield and also who will play on the right sector. Ex-Depor Arizmendi was even tested as a right-back during the previous trainings earlier on this week .
