LOTINA STARTS TO PREPARE THE GAME WITH MURCIA

27 Mar 2008
Coach Miguel Angel Lotina will start to prepare the game against Real Murcia until this day, the reason is that the Basque trainer welcomed his international players until Thursday. Xisco already trained during Wednesday's session, while Guardado, Wilhelmsson, De Guzman and Aouate started to work on Thursday.

Today's training session at the Riazor will be crucial in order to define the strategy that Lotina will use for Sunday's game against Real Murcia (19h00). The decision has been delayed because six players at the squad haven't trained properly during the week due to international duty. Of this six men, Xisco was the first one that joined the group. The Mallorcan worked on Wednesday's session since he didn't took part of the game between the U-20 teams of Spain and Kazakhstan, match that ended with a 5-0 win for the Spaniards.

The other five international players took part of the friendly matches with their national teams. Coloccini replaced Demichelis at the 83rd minute in Argentina's 2-0 win over Egypt , match played in El Cairo. Wilhelmsson had a similar participation after he replaced Fredrik Ljungberg at the 57th minute of Sweden's 0-1 defeat against Brazil in London. Meanwhile, Dudu Aouate was the starting keeper of Israel during the 1-0 win over Chile, match that was played in Tel-Aviv, he was replaced by Davidodich at half-time.

De Guzman and Guardado were the only two players that participated with their national teams during the whole ninety minutes. Canada suffered a 0-2 defeat against Estonia in Tallinn, encounter that was disputed under a heavy snow storm, while Mexico won the game against Ghana in London (2-1).

The participation of Guardado with Mexico means good news for Depor, because the ex-Atlas player is returning from an injury, a problem that sidelined him from the squad during the last month, the winger needs minutes in order to regain pace, something  the same Guardado admitted during the past week. But this doesn't mean that Lotina will trust in him for the starting eleven that will face Murcia, in fact the Basque could decide to rest him and give a new chance to Lafita.

Guardado, Wilhelmsson, De Guzman and Aouate joined the team on Thursday and they worked in the session that took place in the afternoon. Coloccini is the only player that missed the training, the Argentinean arrived late since he was travelling from Egypt. During the two sessions of the day, no clues were offered about the line-up for Sunday's game, just some specific physical exercises and strategic moves.

Meanwhile at Murcia, all appoints that coach Javier Clemente has decided to maintain the 4-4-2 line-up that gave good results in the past game with Espanyol, the only novelty is that Cristbal 'Curro' Torres might return to play at the right-back position after he has finally surpassed his knee injury.
