After suffering only one defeat and ending the first round as the leader in group one, Deportivo B spent hard times in order to qualify to the playoffs. Because the Galician youngsters suffered eight defeats in the second round and only a streak of three wins in a row made possible to end fourth in the table. The players with more minutes were Alex and Pita, while the <i>Pichichi</i> of the squad was Lassad.

The second round started with a setback at Vigo against Celta B, then Depor's youngsters were only able to win two of the next seven matches in liga, situation that complicated the things in the table, although the results of the other teams allowed Fabril to keep the first place in the group.

Then Depor B achieved two important wins against Rayo Vallecano and Ourense just to fell into a negative streak of five consecutive defeats, including two home setbacks against Lanzarote and Alcorc??n -the only two defeats at home on the campaign. This was the lower point lived by Fabril in the whole season as the team lost the first place and was even left out of the top four places. It was also the worst moment since coach Tito Ramallo took charge of the team, at least statistically.

But the youngsters demonstrated courage and achieved an important comeback, because Fabril won the last three games on the season, including the complicate visit to Atl?©tico Madrid B. Nine points that allowed to clinch the fourth place in group one and a spot into the playoffs to Segunda Divisi??n.

The biggest difference between both rounds was the work in defence, because Fabril only leaked seven goals in the first round while the only time in which it allowed two goals in one single match was in the confrontation with Fuerteventura. Therefore the team clinched thirteen clean sheets in this part of the season. Things radically changed for the second round as the team allowed twenty six goals while it only clinched two clean sheets, curiously both during the last two matches.

About the performance of the players, ?lex Berganti?±os was the only one that played in the 38 matches of the season. He just missed 57 minutes in the whole campaign after he was replaced in the home game with Marino due to a muscular problem. The second player with more games was Carlos Pita. It should be noticed that the two youngsters with more minutes on the season were the two main pivotes used by Ramallo in his 4-2-3-1 formation. The third pivote in the squad, Nacho Matador, was the player that entered as substitute in more occasions: 22.

With Piscu and Chapi usually travelling with the first squad, the responsibility in the centre of the defence was reserved to Juanan Gonz??lez, player that's the third men with more minutes on the campaign and that also scored four goals. Left-back Juan Antonio Pedre 'Juachi' was fourth in this particular list although he lost his place in the last matches due to his poor form. Roberto Casado took his place.

In the goalkeeping position, Fabricio Augusto was the first choice but he lost the place with Manu after the Canarian didn't leave a positive impression when he was pulled to the first team. The fourth player that had the chance to debut with the first squad on the season was right-back Laureano Sanabria 'Laure'. The Madrilenian should be considered as the best signing for this season. He did a pretty good job and Lotina even appointed that he might be promoted to the first team for the next season.

Unfortunately, the ex-Legan?©s defender suffered an injury at the beginning of this year, reason why he's currently out of Ramallo's plans. Despite this, Laure is the sixth player with more minutes on the season. His place has been taken by Sergio Benito, defender promoted from Juvenil A for the present campaign.

The pichichi in the squad was Lassad Nouioui. The French striker scored eight goals in the regular season. The merit of this is that the ex-Chateauroux attacker arrived in January and has only played 15 games. Lassad arrived to Depor B for the lack of goals in Depor's strikers. Rub?©n Rivera only scored 2 in 26 games, while Aridane added 5 in 31 encounters. In fact, Fabril welcomed the scoring contribution of midfielder Pita (the second best striker in the squad), defender Juanan and playmaker Iv??n P?©rez Maceira  This last one was an important piece in the first round, but just like the case of Laure, the Galician missed big part of the second round due to a shoulder injury.  Guillermo P?©rez 'Guille' is other player that left a positive impression in the playmaking function and that also missed the last part of the season due to an injury.

On the left wing, Iv??n Carril has had a grey season. He was important in some specific games, like in the 2-0 home win over Vecindario. Match in wich he scored both goals. But in several occasions, he was unnoticed on the pitch. The Galician winger was also the second player with more yellow cards in the squad -the first one was Pita. Neither Jos?© Arenas, nor Herbert, nor Borja Facal were able to prevail on the right wing. These three youngsters were rotated in the position and it seems that non of them convinced Ramallo.

Finally, four players from Juvenil A had the chance to debut with the squad: striker Hugo Garc?a, winger Juan Dom?nguez and central defenders Marcos Caridad and David Rochela. Their presence in the line-ups was just an anecdote, but they should be considered as serious candidates in order to join the B squad for the next campaign.
