GUARDADO IS FINE

14 Jun 2008
The participation of Andrs Guardado with his national team has created a lot of worries in La Corua. A couple of weeks ago, he had to leave the pitch during the game Mexico-Argentina due to some physical problems. The doctors at Depor were worried the young winger could suffer another serious injury, but the Mexican federation sent of Thursday a confirmation of the player's status, while the same Guardado said to reporters hes fine.

Depor's coaching staff has been worried about the current situation of left winger Andrs Guardado. The Mexican player suffered two serious injuries at Deportivo during the second round in liga 2006/2007. He got back at the end of the tournament and later he joined Mexico's national team in the preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2008 qualifiers.

Precisely that's when the problems started. On June 5, Mexico played a friendly game against Argentina in San Diego, Guardado had to be replaced in the second half after feeling some problems in his right leg, the same sector injured at Depor. Three days later Guardado played another friendly against Per, match in which he even scored a goal.

Worried about the situation of the player, Deportivo sent a fax to the Mexican federation asking about Guardado's status, the response was received on Thursday at Plaza de Pontevedra. In the responding fax, the doctor of the Mexican federation, Jorge Gonzalo Luna Rivera, confirmed that Guardado is fine and that he has been training without problems.

The same Guardado talked with reporters in Mexico and assured that he's wishing to return to La Corua in order to join Deportivo "No matter these injuries, I will return in order to make a good pre-season with all my team mates, this in order to offer my best for the following championship, a competition that will be my consolidation."

Guardado also talked about the facts of his game that have improved since he joined Depor "Now I can choose the proper play. When you are starting, you are wilful, you want to eat the ball and now I know when I have to do something and when I shouldnt, when you can run after the ball or when you are tired. I already learned how to difference those moments."

BUSY WEEKEND FOR THE INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS
