Five days before the debut in UEFA and twenty two days before the start of la liga, Deportivo still has to solve what to do with nine of its thirty three players. Besides, coach Lotina still has to decide if Depor must fulfill one more signing in order to complete his defensive zone. The following is a resume of all the cases.

The Venezuelan tour left very clear who are the players that count for coach Miguel ?ngel Lotina, because he only traveled to South America with the men that count for the season 2008/2009. There was one exception: Rodolfo Bodipo, striker that joined the tour just because Coloccini stayed in La Coru?a in order to negotiate his transfer to Newcastle United, operation that was completed on the last Wednesday.

Currently, Lotina is counting with twenty four players for the new campaign: Aranzubia, Fabricio (goalkeepers); Manuel Pablo, Laure, Barrag??n, Lopo, Pablo Amo, Z? Castro, Piscu, Filipe (defenders); Pablo ?lvarez, Cristian, De Guzman, Sergio, Antonio Tom??s, Juan Rodr?guez, Valer??n, Guardado, Lafita (midfielders); Omar Bravo, Mista, Riki and Xisco (strikers).

The Basque trainer still has to decide if he will add a new central defender after Colocini’s departure, all appoints this incorporation will occur and that Lotina will define the name with president Lendoiro during a reunion that will take place this Monday. This new signing will take the number of players in the squad to twenty five, the maximum allowed to compete in la liga and also in UEFA.

But this list can also be modified, mainly by two cases: Pablo Amo and ?ngel Lafita. Both players might end in Real Zaragoza. Amo could bring two more millions to Depor’s cashbox and the operation is expected to occur since July, despite the rumours nothing has been fulfilled yet. Supposedly Z? Castro was signed in order to replace Amo and maybe Monday’s meeting between Lendoiro and Lotina will finally push the operation.

The exit of Lafita would be more unexpected, Depor counts with the winger, but Zaragoza has failed to sign Levante’s Juanma and the second name on the list of coach Marcelino is precisely Lafita. Zaragoza’s president Eduardo Bandres, already warned that his club might try to fulfill the €3 million buyout option during this summer. His exit will mean a headache to Lotina and the club might try to fulfill a new signing. The key moment could occur during this weekend, because according to sportpaper Marca, Bandres and Lendoiro will have a meeting in La Coru?a, mainly to discuss the transfer of Pablo Amo and they will surely will talk about Lafita too.

But at this point, the main problem at Deportivo’s squad is the overbooking. There are other nine players that are currently training at Abegondo (the exception is Alc??ntara ) and that have an uncertain future: Dudu Aouate, Gustavo Mun??a, Manu, Carlos Alc??ntara, Rodri, Jairo, Rodolfo Bodipo, Sebasti??n Taborda and Adri??n This is another reason for Monday’s meeting between Lendoiro and Lotina. They want to define their situation as soon as possible.

The more complicate cases are the ones of Mun??a and Aouate. Both keepers are currently sidelined and are suffering a ?second punishment’ for their fight during the past season. There are no concrete offers for any of these two players, although the name of Aouate has been linked with Recreativo de Huelva and more recently with RCD Mallorca.

Alc??ntara is the biggest mystery. He’s not training with the squad and is waiting for a call in order to decide his future, as he said recently in an interview with Riazor.org ?I, for the moment, don’t know anything because my business is managed by my agent. I am waiting to know what the club will decide or to reach an agreement with them. I don’t have a direct contact with Deportivo.? The weirdest situation is that both, Depor and Fabril, are currently with only one left-back, meaning there’s a room for Alc??ntara in any of these two squads.

It seems the more easy cases are the ones of Manu, Jairo, Rodri and Adri??n. Because these four players are young and recently they have been followed by other clubs. In the beginning Depor is thinking in loaning them out. Adri??n is close to go to Malaga although the operation is complicated for the options that Lendoiro wants to include in the contract. For Jairo, Alav?s and UD Las Palmas have showed some interest, while Rodri has been linked with an offer coming from Switzerland. Manu is the only one on this short list without clear offers. He played on the past season with Fabril at Segunda B and currently the club is searching for a loan to a Segunda club.

Finally, Taborda and Bodipo are out of Lotina’s list. The main problem with them is the high amount of their salaries, something that complicate their exit. Alav?s was interested in Bodipo, but they discarded the option for this reason. Recently Albacete has also showed some interest in the Guinean attacker. About Taborda, Portuguese club Maritimo Funchal is very interested in a loan with a buyout option. In both cases, Lendoiro would have to reduce his aspiration as all the clubs interested don’t want to pay the 100% of the players’ wages.
