18-year-old keeper Alain Baroja is currently training with Fabril. He is a Venezuelan player that arrived on test to Abegondo thanks to Ricardo Gonz??lez, the entrepreneur that helped Lendoiro during the South American tour. If he convinces the coaches, Depor will have to negotiate with Caracas FC his final transfer.

As it was appointed on the past week, Venezuelan keeper Alain Baroja arrived to Spain in order to past a test at Deportivo. Despite he’s only 18 (born on October 23rd 1989) Baroja is the current keeper of Venezuela’s U-20 squad. On the last campaign he was promoted to the second squad of Caracas F.C. and impressed with his performance.

Nicknamed as ?the red wall’, Baroja is considered a future promise in the South American country. Businessman Ricardo Gonz??lez, who was an intermediary for Lendoiro during his visit to Venezuela, arranged with Caracas FC a test period of one month, days that he will spent at Abegondo working with Deportivo B.

If he convinces the coaches of Fabril, Depor will have to negotiate his final transfer with the Venezuelan club and could be the third keeper of Depor B, position that’s currently covered by youngsters Alberto and Marcos Val?n, this last one suffered a finger fracture on the past month, but he’s already recovered.

Baroja talked with newspaper La Voz de Galicia about the moves made in his country for this opportunity ?I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m here for the work of Ricardo Gonz??lez, but I still a player from Caracas FC. In case that Depor wants me, they will have to negotiate with my club.? He also appointed to Aranzubia as one of his heroes ?I have two references in the Spanish football. One is Casillas, who is a great goalkeeper. The other is Aranzubia. My family comes from Bilbao. In fact, Athletic is my favourite club and when I knew he was on here… I already told him.?

Meanwhile, Fabril debuts today in the quarter finals of Copa Diputaci??n against Negreira (19h45). The match will be played at Negreira. Copa Federaci??n is a competition played between the Segunda B clubs and the ones from Tercera Divisi??n. It's a small version of the xopa del Rey and it’s disputed at the start of each season.
