Deportivo’s captain Manuel Pablo was operated on Thursday’s noon. The doctors detected a toe cyst on his right foot after the Canarian defender was complaining from a problem during the last weeks. Now it’s expected he will be out of action during the next two months, meaning he will miss the start in liga.

After the case with ?ngel Lafita, coach Miguel ?ngel Lotina is now facing a new casualty due to a surgery: Manuel Pablo. The Canarian right-back was complaining of pain in a toe. Doctors decided to make a scan and they detected a toe cyst, problem that needed a surgery. For this reason Depor’s captain missed the Teresa Herrera.

The surgery took place on Thursday at Hospital Santa Teresa. Doctor Rafael Arriaza was the one that directed the procedure. After the operation, the doctors communicated they expect Manuel Pablo will be out of action for eight weeks, this due the scare and the requirements for the boot the player must use during the recuperation process. This means the player will miss the start in liga, more in concrete the matches against Real Madrid, RCD Mallorca, Osasuna, Valencia, Numancia and Racing Santander.

Manuel Pablo’s casualty is just giving new headaches to coach Miguel Angel Lotina, he already had the problem of Antonio Barrag??n who will be out until November due to a knee injury, therefore the only available right-back at the squad is youngster Laure, who has been just promoted to the first squad. Lotina still has to decide if he will bet in Laure or if he will search for another solution like replacing a player or making a new signing.

In the meantime, rumours about a possible replacement for Manuel Pablo have appeared in the media. More in concrete, Radio Galega informed on Wednesday and Thursday that Deportvo was following three candidates. The first choice was Portuguese N?lson Augusto Tomar Marcos (25) from SL Benfica, but the problem is the Portuguese club is requesting €6 million for the move, reason why he was already discarded.

The other two options are Juan Ram??n Cabrero Oliver ?Juanra’ (28) and Lars Christian Jacobsen (28). Juanra belongs to Numancia and Radio Galega speculates it could be included in the negotiation of Bodipo, striker that has been chased by Numancia. Meanwhile Jacobsen is a Danish defender that’s currently without a club after ending his contract with German side FC Nuremberg, its seems that Lotina saw him during the tour in Denmark.
