De Guzm??n and Xisco scored a goal with their respective teams, while Andr?©s Guardado played a good game with Mexico. Omar Bravo played for half an hour. Aouate and Rochela also performed in international matches, while goalkeeper Fabricio was the only one who didn’t play any single minute.

The mid-week participation of Deportivo’s international players has been really positive, all started with David Rochela playing with Spain’s U-19 squad in a friendly tournament in Ireland, the Fabril’s central defender played the fully 90 minutes against Ukraine (3-0) and Portugal (1-0). Rochela already performed with Spain during the last U-18 World Cup and this new steep means an important progression in his career.

On Wednesday’s evening, Xisco was playing a friendly match with Spain’s U-21 squad in Russia. The Spaniards defeated the Russians with a 2-1 score and with Xisco scoring the first goal. Depor’s Pichichi of the past season was assisted by Esteban Granero in midfield and started a fast counterattack that ended with the Majorcan drilling the ball past Russia’s keeper. Fabricio was also called for this match, but he didn’t play since Valladolid’s Sergio Asenso was the starting option.

Dudu Aouate also played a friendly game with Israel’s senior squad, his team lost with a 0-2 score against Finland. Depor’s keeper only played the first 45 minutes and he leaked the first goal as Jonatan Johansson scored three minutes before half-time.

But all the attention was focused in the three men that were playing qualifying games for the FIFA World Cup 2010. The first one on action was Julian de Guzm??n who faced with Canada a complicate game against Jamaica (1-1). De Guzman was the best player of the Canadians as he scored the goal of his team, he also hit the post in the 87th minute with a long-range rocket. The goal of De Guzm??n came in a high cross from the right that Depor’s midfielder sent to the back of the net with a rare volley. However, the result is negative for Canada because they lost two points at home and now they must face Mexico and Honduras, the two favourite sides in group two.

Precisely, Honduras and Mexico collided at estadio Azteca in the other match of the group, the Mexican achieved a 2-1 suffered victory after been losing the game during 30 minutes, the home team could only score its goals during the final fifteen minutes. Both scored by  Pavel Pardo. Andr?©s Guardado played the fully ninety minutes and had a good performance. He had two chances to score, first with a drilling shot saved by keeper Noel Valladares and later with a diving header that went close to the right post. Omar Bravo started the match sited on the bench and entered at minute 61 in order to replace Carlos Vela. His only appearance on the game was in the stoppage time, he received a pass from Guardado when he was inside the box, instead of firing on target he assisted Guille Franco, but the Villarreal’s striker wasted the chance sending the ball over the crossbar.
