The coach of Nancy is Uruguayan, Pablo Correa, he was describing the game as a tough one. Meanwhile Lotina wasn’t at Abegondo for the last training before the match, he was attending a familiar matter. Second coach Ribera directed the session and later he talked with reporters.

Pablo Correa is a Uruguayan ex-player that finished his career at Nancy-Lorraine and that quickly became a fans-favourite player. After his retirement in 2000, the ex-Pe?arol man joined the coaching staff at the French club and has worked as the manager of the first team since the year 2002. The best two achievements of Correa were the promotion to France’s top division in 2004 and the French Cup in 2005.

In 2004, Correa got Nancy promoted into Le Championnat after six years in Ligue 2. In 2005, Correa guided Nancy to the Coupe de la Ligue final against Nice. Nancy came back from behind to win it with a 2-1 score, giving them a place in the UEFA Cup. For the present season, AS Nancy Lorraine is competing again in the UEFA Cup after ending 4th in Ligue 1 during the past campaign.

Miguel Angel Lotina wasn’t at Abegondo on Tuesday since he was taking care of a familiar issue, therefore second coach Jose Luis Ribera directed the session and later attended to the press room in order to talk with reporters. The ex-defender insisted that Deportivo must only think of winning the game ?Our necessity is to win, same as Nancy. At the beginning, we don’t know the result of the other game and we can only think in ourselves. We must do our game with and without the ball. Besides to create scoring opportunities, if we do this, we will score.?

Reporters asked about the absences of Mista and De Guzm??n in the list of called players, the response of Depor’s second coach was: ?We have considered give them a rest, because they won’t play tomorrow and will fulfill the weekly work with games from Sunday to Sunday.? Explanation that should means that both men will be starters during Sunday’s liga confrontation against Recreativo Huelva.

Later the Basque coach gave his opinion about Nancy’s squad, ?It’s a strong team in a physical sense, with fast people in midfield and also in attack, and they can create a lot of damage through counterattacks. They didn’t start well the year, but now they are playing at a great level.? Ribera also said that there isn’t a great difference between been third or second in the group, ?The difference between ending second or third is not too big. There are very good teams between the third places on the Champions League, but also in the first places in UEFA. What we need to do is to be worried for our own qualification, later we can look at this.?

Finally, Ribera analysed the job done by Depor during the year 2008,a work that he described as positive but that must continue until the end of season ,?Looking back to the year, from January to January, it has been phenomenal, but we know it isn’t  worthy, because this thing counts until June and we want to continue until that point.?

The Uruguayan coach arrived on Tuesday to La Coru?a and directed a training session at the Riazor, previously he talked with reporters and analysed the game against Deportivo. For him this is going to be a tough game, ?I am expecting a very difficult game, mainly because we play outside home.? He said. Like Valer??n did before, Correa was also affirming that the elimination will be a failure for Nancy, "If we do not qualify for the remainder of the UEFA Cup, it would be a failure for me."

He continued emphasising the importance of this game for his side, "We must keep our place in the UEFA map. It’s necessary to see us going as far as possible in this competition," He also assured that Nancy must keep the same spirit used to achieve the last victory in Ligue 1, "More than the approach made against Grenoble, the fact that we must repeat for the game in La Coru?a is a certain behavior from the players."
