THE FIRST ROUND AT JUVENILES’

09 Jan 2009
The three squads at Juveniles category have made a very solid first round on the present season, Juvenil B is the leader on its division, while Juvenil A & C are currently second in their respective leagues. Youngster like Vela, Joshua, Valencia or Miguel are proving their value and all appoints the three teams will be fighting for a title until the end.

Juvenil A already started the second round, while Juvenil B and C are near to end the first part of the season. The following is a review of their situation.

JUVENIL A
The squad coached by Jose Luis Devesa started the season with a defeat against Pabell??n Juvenil (1-2), but in the rest of the first round they just conceded four draws, including one against the current leader at group one of Divisi??n de Honor, Celta Juvenil A (0-0). To end first in the group means an important thing, because it qualifies the team to the Champions League’ of the division, tournament in which the seven national winners collide during a week at the end of the season for the national championship. The first four places in each group also qualify to the Copa Del Rey for the Juveniles division.

Right back Alberto Valencia and striker Joshua Corrales are the only players that have started in all the 17 matches played so far. Joshua, who is coming after scoring 20 goals with Juvenil B on the past season, is the current Pichichi in the squad with 15 goals. But who is shining the most is right winger Diego Vela, he was signed from Calasanz during the past summer and was supposed to be alternating his presence between Juvenil A & B, but the move of Chirri to Fabril has reserved a place for him at Juvenil A. And Vela has seized the opportunity as he is a vital piece in the schemes of Devesa, he has scored 4 goals and already gave 13 assists, reason why Depor Sport has called him the best signing of the summer’.
