LAFITA IS FIT TO PLAY

29 Jan 2009
?ngel Lafita and Z? Castro were doubtful for the game against Villarreal since they didn’t end Wednesday’s second session, but on Thursday both were already fine. This means that Lotina will surely use them for the upcoming game against Villarreal.

On Wednesday’s last training, all eyes were upon ?ngel Lafita and Z? Castro, because both men didn’t took part of the session after suffering some physical problems during the morning training. Lafita’s left leg got stuck in the grass during a practice and immediately, he started to suffer pain in the knee. In the afternoon he stayed at the gym and during Thursday’s morning, he was attended by the doctors of the club.

Same was the case of Z? Castro, the Portuguese central defender suffered a contracture in his back and missed the last training on Wednesday. But for Thursday both men were already recovered and the two of them took part of the session that took place behind closed doors at the Riazor.

Therefore the plans of Lotina about keeping the 4-3-2-1 formation that lost against Real Madrid still on. For the moment only two novelties are expected: Dani Aranzubia, who is returning after suspension, will cover the goal, while Riki will replace Bodipo in attack. The doubts that haven’t been solved is who will play alongside in the triple pivote figure, the candidates for the two spots still are Juan Rodr?guez, Julian De Guzman and Sergio. Meanwhile, Valer??n, Manuel Pablo, Filipe Luis and Alberto Lopo still have a secure place in the game.

After the session at the Riazor ended, Lafita talked in the press room and explained that he is already fit to play, ?I was scared but fortunately, all ended there, and I will be in conditions to play if the coach decides to use me.? Later he talked about the encounter, ?More than ever, we need a victory. Villarreal is a solid team that’s currently playing the Champions League. We will try to put things difficult to them.?
