WAITING FOR RIKI

12 Feb 2009
Riki will make a late test on Friday in order to know if he will be able to play on Saturday’s game against Osasuna. Lopo is also having some problems though the Catalan should be fit for the game. Who is almost discarded is Manuel Pablo.

Striker Riki has been doubtful since the past weekend due to an abductor problem, he picked the injury during the match against Mallorca and hasn’t trained with normality during this week because the doctors preferred to be cautious.  On Thursday the team trained at the Riazor and Lotina started to prepare the tactic for the game, but the Madrilenian attacker wasn’t part of the tests.

Related to this case, doctor Jos?© Ram??n Barral talked with reporters and gave hope about Riki’s presence on Saturday’s clash, â€?Although he hasn’t trained with normality, he is now better. We hope he will join the squad during the rest of the week.â€? Depor will train on Friday, probably the last session of the week though Lotina could program an early session on Saturday, therefore the participation of the striker in the starting lineup could even be decided until hours before the encounter.

Who should be fit to play is Albert Lopo, the central defender was suffering a lumbalgia case and hasn’t trained with normality, but doctor Barral assured he will be ready for the game, â€?He has been working with the physiotherapists because he’s suffering a small lumbalgia problem.  We hope it will be resolved on Friday, he should not have any problem to play on Saturday.â€?

Who still a big doubt is Manuel Pablo, the Canarian side defender missed the game at Majorca due to a knee injury and he hasn’t trained during the week. Doctor Barral explained his situation, â€?We made some tests on Monday and the results were normal. Let’s see if he is recovered for Saturday, but we have more doubts with him.â€?

Doctor Barral also mentioned during his conversation with reporters that defender Pablo Amo should receive the medical OK during this day, and that the Madrilenian will start to train with the squad during next week. About the case of Bodipo, the doctor said the striker should be ready to play in twelve or thirteen days.

At Osasuna, the news of the day are marked by the confirmation that Sergio Fern??ndez will miss the match at the Riazor, the doctors of the club already said  the central defender is out due to a thigh injury. Miguel Fla?±o still doubtful due to a ankle problem although doctors expect he will fit to play on Saturday. Other two defenders, Rov?©rsio Rodrigues (knee) and Josetxo (stress fracture), are already discarded for the occasion.
