ALL HOPES ON BODIPO

24 Feb 2009
Deportivo needs goals to surpass the series against Aalborg BK, but it’s facing the second-leg game with several casualties at the squad, especially in attack. And all the hopes will be on Bodipo, striker that’s coming out of an injury and that is ready to save Depor for the second time on the season.

Riki (thigh) and Mista (pubalgy) are already discarded for Thursday’s match, while Lassad was not inscribed in the competition. Therefore, Rodolfo Bodipo and Omar Bravo are the only two fit attackers for a match in which Depor needs to score a lot of goals. And having in mind the Mexican has one feet and a half outside the club, it’s very clear that all the hopes are on Bodipo, forward that already saved Deportivo once on the season as he scored the decisive goal against Nancy Lorraine in the previous round of the UEFA Cup.

On Tuesday, the Guinean attacker confessed to newspaper La Opini??n A Coru?a that he still struggling trying to regain his physical form after surpassing a hamstring strain, ?I am not close to my best form, because I have been without training during a month, but  will do everything I can. I can’t be at 100% after been stopped during one month. I just have three days training with the squad and things are like that. I will do all I can and let’s see if this little thing goes well. I will love to repeat a starting role, but the important thing is to achieve another comeback like the one against Milan or Brann.? Were his first comments.

Bodipo was saying that he is feeling better now compared to his sensations on the past week, ?The fear I had on the past week is already passing. I just need more co-ordination and to gain the pace.? Later he talked about the keys for the match, ?We need a lot of intensity, to be pressing up front and to send a lot of crosses to the area. It will be also important to score a goal within the first fifteen or twenty minutes, and later to try to do the same things than against Brann.?

Later the ex-Alav?s attacker described the game as the key match of the season and called for the support from the Riazor, ?This is the game of to be or not to be in Europe. I hope the Riazor will put a big pressure and that the squad will feel supported. We will give everything, but people need to push us and become the player number twelve. It will be hard, but at the Riazor we already lived big comebacks in the past. Against Valencia we fulfilled a dynamic game. The positive thing is that after allowing a goal, the squad didn’t fell down, as it happened in previous occasions.?
