On Monday it was confirmed that Lopo suffered a muscle strain in the low back, the injury should mean the Catalan will be out for a week, but the doctors at the club expect the ex-Espanyol could be fit by Saturday. If he is not ready, Colotto or Pablo Amo will enter to the lineup.

Albert Lopo passed some scans at Hospital Santa Teresa in La Coru?±a during Monday, the results confirmed the Catalan central defender suffered a muscle strain in the low back during the game against Racing Santander. The low back pain is often a long time problem coming on as the muscles in the back gradually tighten up due to bad posture and overuse. These muscles go into spasm and do not get enough blood through them resulting in weakness

The player has been feeling a lot of pain since Sunday and the doctors are already treating the problem with drugs. Lopo must rest for a couple of days and he should be back for the home match with Real Betis, but Depor’s doctors are anticipating he could even be ready for this weekend’s game against Sporting (Sunday, 17h00 CET).

The group rested on Tuesday and on Wednesday the case of Lopo will be studied again, his return to the pitch would depend on his sensations before the training session. This new casualty is only increasing the numbers of cases at Depor’s squad. Z?© Castro still out and despite he started the physical work on Monday, his return is not expected for this weekend.

Both cases are leaving coach Lotina with only three central defenders available: Piscu, Pablo Amo and Diego Colotto. In the beginning, if Lopo is not recovered for Sunday’s game, the couple at the centre of the defence that will play at El Molin??n will be conformed by Piscu and Colotto.

At least Lotina has recovered Cristian Hidalgo who is already training at the same pace than the rest of the squad, Rodolfo Bodipo is also close to return as he started to train on Monday. But Manuel Pablo (knee), Mista (pubalgy) and Antonio Tom??s (hamstring strain) are not set to return on this week.
