THE WEIRD CASE OF LAURE

31 Mar 2009
Any player should be out of action for at least two months after suffering a 8.5 centimeters tear in a muscle, but that is not the case of Laureano Sanabria ?Laure’. The right-back has replaced Manuel Pablo lately and has disputed the last three games no matter he was injured, at least it was what the scans indicated.

One week before the game against Racing, Laure noticed something in his thigh and decided to stop, the scans were made and it was determined he had a tear in a muscle. But he never felt pain and since he was willing to play, he decided to risk. ?I knew I was injured, but the will was there and I wanted to take part of the games? he said to a reporter a few weeks ago.

Curiously, the injury of Manuel Pablo (Adductor/Soleus) is considered as a less complicated problem than the injury of Laure, however the Canarian has been out of action for a month and a half, while the Madrilenian has been fit to play all the time.

The injury of Manuel Pablo came during the warming up at Son Moix for the visit to RCD Mallorca, Lotina tested with Piscu for the occasion, but he didn’t like the results. Then the chance of Laure came and the ex-Real Madrid has played as starter in the last six liga matches. Now the player accumulates 909 minutes on the liga season, this means more than other players like Valer??n (578), Cristian (239), Bodipo (566), Colotto (507), Pablo ?lvarez (558) or Mista (545)

Now Laure hopes the injury won’t affect him, especially at this moment of the season as he has earned the confidence of the coach, ?It was what I needed, continuity and confidence, each game I am feeling more loose. Last year I could only play one game, I knew I was going to need time for the adaptation, but each day I’m better. Football is football, but you can notice there are players that mark the difference, also that everything is going rapidly and that you can not doubt, because if you doubt, they will attack you until death.?
