CONFIRMED SQUAD TO FACE ESPANYOL

03 Apr 2009
Lotina advanced the list of picked players for the trip to Montjuic and gave important hints about the lineup that will face Espanyol. As it was expected, Pablo Amo returns to the centre of the defence, while Ze Castro will play in midfield.

The game against RCD Espanyol will be played on Sunday (17h00 CET), but coach Lotina released the list of picked players for the game since Friday. The Basque trainer is traveling to Catalonia with the 18 players that he has available for the match. In the end, neither Bodipo nor Antonio Tom??s are part of the trip since they aren’t totally fit.

Z? Castro is the only player retuning to the list after surpassing his injury case, the Portuguese has been out during the last three liga encounters due to an adductor problem and now he is ready to return, though he will do it performing alongside De Guzm??n in midfield. This is the solution chosen by Lotina since Sergio and Juan Rodriguez are both suspended.

Another novelty for the game is that Pablo Amo is returning to the starting formation in order to play with Lopo at the centre of the defence, therefore Colotto and Piscu will start on the bench. The defensive sector should be completed with Aranzubia at the goal, Laure at the right-back position and Filipe Luis on the left sector.

In attack, Andr?s Guardado returned from international duty until Friday, despite this, he is going directly into the starting formation. The Mexican will perform on the left wing, while Angel Lafita will stay on the right side. Joan Verd?? will be the playmaker and Riki the lonely striker. The Madrilenian is not totally fit for the game, but Lotina will use him since Lassad is facing muscular problems. It is expected that both strikers will be alternated throughout the game.

List of picked players for the game:
Goalkeepers:
Aranzubia and Mun??a.
Defenders: Laure, Z? Castro, Pablo Amo, Lopo, Colotto, Adri??n L??pez ?Piscu’ and Filipe.
Midfielders: De Guzm??n, Verd??, Lafita, Pablo ?lvarez, Guardado, Cristian and Valer??n.
Strikers: Riki and Lassad.
