Deportivo and Recreativo are playing for different goals on Sunday, but a thing on common is that both sides have a player that has participated in all the games of the liga season: Morris and Filipe, the iron men of la liga.

Fabricio Coloccini fulfilled an historic mark on the past season: 3,420 minutes on the pitch. The perfect mark for a single liga season, and the Argentine was the first player in almost eight years that has completed the task. Now, South African Nasief Morris is at the edge of tying the record just one year later. The central defender of Recreativo has played all the possible minutes in la liga (2,970) and just need four more complete games to reach Coloccini’s mark.

At Deportivo, Filipe Luis has been also a starter in all the matches of the liga season, though he was replaced twice. And the Brazilian currently holds the mark of more straight games as starter in the competition: 59. The last time he missed a liga game was on November of 2007 when Depor was visiting San Mam?©s in order to face Athletic Bilbao. Together, Filipe and Morris are the only two field players that have participated as starters in all the liga matches of the 2008/2009 campaign.

Now both men are facing each other as Deportivo visits the Nuevo Colombino on Sunday, Filipe was explaining to Sportpaper AS what it’s his secret to be fit enough during a long period of time, I eat well, I sleep and as long as I work hard, the better for me.. Meanwhile, Morris was saying it is only a coincidence that he has been able to play in all the liga games.

Both iron men will try to complete their perfect marks and at the same time, to help their teams to reach their goals: Europe for Depor and the permanence for Recreativo. Also, both mean have the same enemy: the yellow cards. So far they have been booked four times, meaning that a new yellow will put an end to their perfect season.
