21 May 2009
Deportivo is the sixth best team in term of effectiveness against the opposite goal. Almost the 38% of the attempts made by Depor’s players are reaching the target. However, the squad has only scored 47 goals, only the 11th best mark at Primera Divisi??n.

Lotina’s Deportivo has improved its performance against the opposite goal during the present season, something that has helped the team to still fighting for a European spot when only two matchdays are remaining in the calendar.

So far, Deportivo has made 456 shots in 36 matchdays (average of 12.67 per liga game), and 172 of those 456 efforts reached the opposite goal. This means a percentage of effectiveness of 37.72%, the sixth highest mark at Primera Divisi??n, only surpassed by Malaga, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca and Athletic Bilbao. It is an improvement compared to the past season, because in the 38 matchdays of the 2007/2008 campaign, Depor only completed 150 shots on target after 429 attempts, meaning a percentage of effectiveness of 34.97%.

However, Deportivo still struggling with its mark of goals scored. So far the team has just conquered 47 goals in 36 matches, only the 11th best mark at Primera Divisi??n. 47 is precisely the highest numbers of goals conquered by Depor in one single liga campaign within the last five years, mark conquered on the season 2005/2006. This means that with one more goal in favour during the remaining two games, Lotina’s team will be able to improve the record, though it is still far from the 60 goal-mark conquered during the years of the Champions League.
