Two signings, ten exits and three loans, that’s the resume of the moves made by Deportivo during the summer window. Only Jairo wasn’t able to find the door out, while Lotina signed what he wanted and keeps the 24+1 squad that he was wishing.

Despite that Depor still waiting for the resolution in the case of Angel Lafita, it could be said that coach Miguel Angel Lotina has the squad that he wanted. Actually, on the past week, the Basque manager said that he was happy and that this team is even better than the one of the past season. Therefore, there should be no excuses in case the results aren’t positive at the end of the campaign.

Deportivo only completed two signings during the summer window: Juca and Angulo; this means the Galicians were the less active club at Primera División. Firstly, for the number of closed incorporations (2), and secondly because Depor only invested 100,000 Euros in the loan of Angulo. Even CD Xérez, the Primera club with the smallest budget, invested more money (around €1.5 million including the loans), while Barcelona, Sevilla, Atletico and Osasuna were second in the list of clubs with less incorporations (3, without including players returning from loan).

However, this doesn’t mean that Deportivo doesn’t have the potential to fight against the other clubs, because the secret of the Galician club is that it kept the base of the squad that ended seventh on the past liga campaign. It’s true that the team has suffered ten exits compared to the past season’s squad: De Guzmán, Munúa, Fabricio, Barragán, Verdú, Cristian, Pablo Amo, Rodri, Taborda and Omar Bravo. But the true is that of this list, only Verdú was a normal starter at Lotina’s formations.

Actually, what really occurred is that Lendoiro was finally able to “get rid” of the excess that Deportivo has been dragging in recent years. Now the squad is only composed by 24 players, plus youngster Juan Dominguez and Jairo, this last one is the only discard that wasn’t able to find the door out. The club confirmed that he will have a spot of Deportivo B, but it hasn’t been informed if he will train with the first team or if he will work at Fabril.

Besides, the club has other three players that are currently on loan: Alex Bergantiños, Aythami (both at Xérez) and Rubén Castro (Rayo Vallecano). The first two are considered as players for the future, while the third will live away from A Coruña his last year of contract with Depor.

With the situation of Lafita still to be solved, the list of shirt numbers for the season 09/10 is:
