Fabril’s right winger Chirri has been out of action for three weeks due to an Achilles problem, now he is close to return as the injury is almost healed. He talked to Depor Sport and expressed his expectations for the new season.

It has been a tough start of season for Carlos Monje Serrano ‘Chirri’ (19); this should be his confirmation season at Fabril, but the injuries have affected his progress. During the pre-season, the Merida-born player wasn’t able to join the U-21 squad of Spain due to an Achilles problem and also skipped the debuting match of Deportivo B at Tercera División.

The whole situation has affected his morale, as he explained to Depor Sport, “I am screwed, I don’t know how much time I will be out, but I hope to be ready for the next week. Three weeks have passed without playing and I’m feeling mad. However I am scared to return too soon and lose in one day what I have gained in all this time. I don’t want to go out to the pitch and screw again the Achilles region, but at the same time I’m dying to play. It’s a tough situation.”

Anyhow, the young player is optimistic about his integration to Fabril, “I’m willing to surpass the problem, to be able to enter to the squad and feel integrated to the group. I made the pre-season with the squad and I don’t think I will notice the difference, because the style of Tito suits me. The 4-3-3 system that we use is good, because it allows the game on the wings and I feel comfortable with it.”

Finally, Chirri was admitting that Fabril is facing troubles to score the goals, something noticed against Ciudad Santiago on the past weekend, “We are playing well, moving the ball and reaching the opposite area, but we are missing the goals. It may be more difficult to defend than to attack, but we must give everything for the squad.”
