Deportivo will face six matches during March. It will be the opportunity to consolidate the European aspirations of the club and also, to define the other finalist in the copa del rey. The always expected confrontations against Barcelona and Real Madrid will also occur during this month.

The first task of the month could be the most complicated mission of the season: the visit to Barcelona. The Catalans had only lost one match at home in the current season (against Atl?©tico Madrid 1-3). However, the crucial match against Chelsea could be a benefit for Deportivo since coach Rijkaard could  give some rest to stars like Deco and Ronaldinho who have been facing injury troubles in the last few days.

For Deportivo the novelty is the return of Iv??n Carril who has surpassed his muscular problems. The absences will be Valer??n (out for the rest of the season), Taborda (muscular injury) and Coloccini (suspended). Caparr??s could be thinking of using the formation that defeated Osasuna last weekend, with the only modification being Pedro Munitis' inclusion, who has surpassed his problems in one toe. Despite their current position in the table, Deportivo are living an historic season with seven away wins, an achievement which includes six victories in the last seven matches played away from the Riazor.

The second match of the month will be against Real Sociedad at home. The Basque squad has presented an unpredictable behavior and currently they are 15th in the table, just two points away from the relegation positions. But the biggest problem of the Galicians at home has been themselves. Deportivo has only won 4 of 13 matches in the Riazor and Caparr??s is desperate to bring a victory to the fans.

Three days later Depor will face the second leg-game against RCD Espanyol, a crucial confrontation that will decide the other finalist in the Copa de Rey and maybe the European aspirations of the Galicians. In the current season Depor has lost the two confrontations against the Catalans with the same score (1-2). The date of the game could be reprogrammed since Lendoiro is trying to move the match to the previous week, but the Spanish federation hasn't changed their decision yet.

Later Deportivo will travel to the Alfonso P?©rez coliseum to face Getafe. The Madrilian club was one of the surprises at the beginning of la liga, but lately they have lost some gas and now they occupy a position in mid-table. However, Getafe have presented a good performance at home so far where they have only lost three matches: Barcelona (1-2), Racing (1-2) and Atl?©tico Madrid (0-3)

The last home match of the month will be against M??laga. The Andalucian club is living one of their worst seasons, occupying the last spot in the table. So far they have been only able to win two away matches (2-1 against Athletic and 4-1 against Mallorca). Also, M??laga have accumulated eight defeats away from la Rosaleda (the biggest number in la liga). But Deportivo can't be relaxed for this match as they were defeated before by Alav?©s at the Riazor, a team that at that time was occupying the last position in la liga.

Finally, the following confrontation will be the one against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabe??. The Madrilians are in the middle of a crisis since their president, Florentino P?©rez resigned due to the bad results of the team. L??pez Caro's squad has also suffered four defeats at home this season: Celta (2-3), Valencia (1-2), Barcelona (0-3) and Racing (1-2).

The list of Depor's matches in March is:
04/March/2006  Barcelona - Deportivo (liga)
12/March/2006  Deportivo - Real Sociedad (liga)
15/March/2006 Deportivo - Espanyol (copa del rey)
19/March/2006  Getafe - Deportivo (liga)
