Q&A WITH LASSAD

03 Oct 2009
Striker Lassad Nouioui gave an interview to newspaper La Voz de Galicia, the Tunisian analysed his physical state and the criticism of the fans towards his performance with Deportivo.
Q: On the past Sunday you heard the first whistles at the Riazor, but when you were replaced there was a standing ovation...
A: Adrian and I aren’t at one hundred percent. It’s normal, because we didn’t complete the pre-season, and it is normal to see the fans wanting more. We are not very concerned, because what matters is to train and to be fit to play again.
Q: But were you angered with those whistles?
A: No, no. It's our job, it's normal to see people whistling us, at least a little bit, because people want more, they want a pretty show.
Q: One of the reclaims was for not running for a ball that you considered as lost...
A: I will not listen too much what people say. I know what I'm worth, and also know that I am not at one hundred percent. But with hard work and the confidence of the coach, Adrian and I are going to show everybody that we can do much more.
Q: In which level are you?
A: I don’t know, but surely not at one hundred percent, certainly not. My team mates played seven friendly matches during the pre-season. Sunday’s match was my fourth game, second as starter, and it cost me a lot. The forwards are pushing hard during the matches, and that costs me a lot. For now it’s difficult to play well. Within three weeks or a month we'll be at hundred percent. The work at the gym has been beneficial for me.
Q: Will you go with Tunisia in a few days?
A: I think I will go. If we win and Nigeria draws, then we will qualify for the World Cup.
Q: And from January 10 to 31 you have to play the African Cup...
A: The first three of the group are going to play it. That means three or four weeks.
