Mixed news at Depor’s training pitch as the team starts to prepare the game against Atletico Madrid. Bodipo still out, but Lopo, Juan Dominguez and Iván Pérez are already fit. Also, the club still trying to lift the ban over Riki.

Depor ended the past week with several doubts ahead of the clash against Atletico Madrid (Saturday, Riazor, 18h00 CET). And by Monday five of these doubts seemed to be solved. The first three are central defender Albert Lopo (knee) and the midfielders Juan Dominguez (toe) and Iván Pérez (knee), the three of them completed Monday’s session without any problem.

The other two are central defender Zé Castro (adductor) and striker Lassad Nouioui (hamstring). Both completed big part of the training, and despite they didn’t took part of the game played at the end both should be fit for Saturday’s clash at the Riazor. It means very good news for coach Lotina, who was hoping to count with Lopo, Lassad and Juan Dominguez for the game, this due to the current casualties and suspensions affecting the squad.

Who still doubtful is Rodolfo Bodipo (groin), the Equatoguinean attacker stayed at the gym, he was joined by Juca, the Brazilian is already recovered from his thigh injury, but has started a special physical routine since the doctors believe that he’s missing match fitness. He should be ready at the beginning of December. In the other hand, the two players that are already discarded for the game are midfielder Sergio (suspended) and left-back defender Brayan Angulo (Anterior Cruciate rupture), this last one will be operated today.

Another player who was supposedly discarded for the encounter against the Madrilenians was striker Riki. But on Monday the club informed that it will present a new appeal in order to lift the suspension over the attacker after been sent off against Getafe. The appeal will be presented to the Spanish Committee for Sports Discipline and means the last instance to resolve the case.

Meanwhile, striker Adrián is out on international duty as Spain’s U-21 squad visits today the Netherlands as part of the UEFA U-21 qualifying round. The Asturian should be returning at the end of the week. At Atletico Madrid, it has been informed that coach Quique Sanchez Flores might have the H1N1 flue. He will be isolated until Thursday and could miss the trip to La Coruña.

At the same time, Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero is already working with Atletico after sustaining a muscular injury during the concentration with Argentina’s national squad. It is a small problem and he should be fit enough to face Depor. Who still out on international duty are midfielder Simao (Portugal), striker Diego Forlán (Uruguay) and the keepers Asenjo and De Gea (Spain U-21 squad). In order to cover their casualties, second coach Fran Escribá worked on Monday with seven players from Atletico B: Nacho, Joel, Kader, Pedro, Jorge Félix, Álex Biendicho and Jorge Merino.
