WAITING FOR ARANZUBIA

19 Nov 2009
Depor’s keeper didn’t’ train on Wednesday due to a muscular problem, but he should be fit enough to face Atletico Madrid. Meanwhile, Ze Castro and Lassad are still hoping to be ready for Saturday’s clash.

The main novelty on Wednesday was to see that Daniel Aranzubia was out of the training session held at Abegondo. The Basque keeper suffered a muscular contusion during Tuesday’s session and the doctors preferred to rest him. However, it is expected that the ex-Athletic Bilbao keeper will be ready to play against Atletico Madrid.

Currently, Aranzubia has only allowed eleven goals after ten matchdays at Primera División, which puts him at the sixth place in the race for the Zamora trophy (ratio 1.1). Also, the Basque has only missed one liga game after his arrival at the beginning of the past season, and it was for suspension after been sent off against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

So far, other four players are already discarded from Saturday’s game at the Riazor: Sergio (suspended), Juca (thigh), Bodipo (groin) and Angulo (knee). Riki is waiting to know if his suspension will be lifted, while Zé Castro (adductor) and Lassad are hurrying up their recoveries in order to be fit for the encounter. To mention that Bodipo was attending to the training of Juvenil B as part of the process to obtain his license as a coach.

The other novelty on Wednesday was the announcement of Adrian López’s arrival to La Coruña; on Tuesday the Asturian attacker played the fully ninety minutes of the game between the U-21 squads of Spain and The Netherlands (1-2), for that reason he was rested and will join the trainings until this day.
