Diego Colotto is not only an important piece in defence, but also a reference in attack. Actually, the Argentine already scored five teams with Depor, and the Galician team never lost a game in which Colotto has scored.

Ex-Atlas central defender Diego Colotto was hired in order to avoid the goals, but the Argentine is not only helping to fulfill the mission, but is also contributing in attack thanks to his aerial game. His potential to score goals was already know as he conquered eleven goals in Mexico playing for Atlas and Tecos (now called Estudiantes).

And the true is that those expectations have been matched, because the Argentine has scored five goals since his arrival on the summer of 2008 and more important than that, Depor hasnít lost any of the games in which Colotto has scored. On the past campaign he didnít have too many chances in liga (just eleven appearances), and his bigger impact occurred in the UEFA Cup, competition in which he scored three goals.

Two of those goals were conquered against Brann Bergen and helped Deportivo to reach the group stage in the competition (2-0), later he scored another goal against Lech Poznan (1-1). Then, for the present season, Lotina decided to give a new chance to Colotto after Ze Castro fell injured and after the 2-3 setback with RCD Espanyol, since that day he has been the normal starter alongside Lopo.

And the goals were still coming; the Argentine scored his first goal on the campaign to pick up the victory at Tenerife (1-0) and then appeared on last Saturdayís win to score the equalising goal against Atletico Madrid. But his work goes beyond his offensive contribution, because Colotto is also proving to be a good complement for Lopo at the centre of the defence, couple thatís one of the reasons that explains why Deportivo is the sixth best defensive line in liga with only twelve goals allowed after eleven matchdays.
