Juca became the third discard for the game as doctors confirmed that he suffered an ankle sprain during the match with Barcelona, meanwhile Almeria doesn’t have important casualties ahead of the liga encounter.

The injuries are now striking Deportivo; it was already known that strikers Riki and Lassad Nouioui (both stress fracture) will miss Sunday’s visit to Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos; and now it has been confirmed that midfielder Juca will also miss that clash. The Brazilian was coming after been out for two months due to a thigh injury and suffered an ankle sprain during his returning match with Barcelona FC.

The club informed that he sustained a bone edema in the outer region of his right ankle and that should start to train again on next week, but on Wednesday Depor Sport printed that probably the midfielder won’t play a game until January of 2010. These three cases are now joining the one of Brayan Angulo (knee ligaments), the Colombian already started to make some exercises at Abegondo and could be returning before to the expected deadline (April 2009). Guardado and Filipe skipped the session too (muscular problems), but both should be fit for the game.

With these four casualties in mind, all appoints that coach Miguel Angel Lotina will probably keep the same starting eleven that faced the Catalans at the Riazor. Aranzubia should be at the goal, Manuel Pablo at the right-back position, Filipe Luis on the left side, Colotto and Lopo at the centre; Antonio Tomás, Juan Rodriguez and Sergio should be appearing at midfield, while Guardado, Mista and Adrián will be the attackers in the formation.

After Wednesday training, Lopo talked to reporters and like Lotina did in the previous day, he warned about the potential of the rival, “Almeria has a good team, like anybody else at Primera. They have fast people at the wings and also in attack. They had (Real) Madrid against the ropes so we must be careful. Almeria is a dangerous rival and we might lose no matter if we keep the same intensity than against Barcelona. On the other hand, if we defeat Almeria we will reach the mark of 28 points and will face the game against Valencia in other form. If we also defeat Valencia we will go very happy to enjoy of the vacations, with 31 points, nobody would have thought it.”

At Almeria, coach Hugo Sánchez could be fired if his team losses the game against Deportivo, on Tuesday he ordered a three-hour training session, which is the largest one of the campaign for the Andalusian players, this in order to send a message to his men about the importance of Sunday’s game.

Midfielder Fabián Vargas and winger Miguel Angel Nieto still recovering from their long-term knee injuries, but Hugo Sanchez is able to present the same starting eleven that lost at the Bernabéu stadium. Captain José Ortiz (flu) and the top-scorer of the team Kalu Uche (muscular) missed the first session of the week, but both should be fit for the game against Depor.
