GOOD NUMBERS FOR THE LOANED PLAYERS

26 Dec 2009
Despite the relegation problems of Xérez CD, Aythami and Alex are having a solid participation with the Andalusian team, while Ruben Castro is fourth in the list of Pichichis with Segunda club Rayo Vallecano.

Contrary to the situation lived during past seasons, the loaned players of Deportivo are having positive presentations with their respective clubs. After the ‘cleaning’ at the start of the campaign, Lotina had twenty-seven players at his squad, and three of them were loaned out to other clubs in order to gain minutes and experience.

Rubén Castro ended at Rayo Vallecano, Madrilenian club that’s one of the aspirants for the promotion to Primera División and that currently occupies the fourth spot at Segunda. And the Canarian striker is giving good results as he is the top-scorer of the team with eight goals scored so far, actually he is fourth in the list of Pichichis at Segunda División, just behind Albacete’s Christian Stuani (11), Elche’s Jorge Molina (9) and Cartagena’s José Verdú ‘Toche’ (9).

The striker accumulates 17 presentations on the season and 1,426 minutes on the pitch, which means that he is scoring one goal every 178 minutes. On the past liga season the Canarian performed for SD Huesca, also at Segunda División, and ended the 2008/09 campaign with 14 goals scored in 41 matches, and with an average of one goal scored every 255 minutes, therefore it’s possible to say that he has improved his average in 77 minutes.

Despite that Rubén is improving his numbers, the true is that it isn’t expected to witness his return to Deportivo. He ends his contract with Depor in June of 2011 and could be transferred or even released during the next summer market, this taking in mind that coach Lotina is not counting with the ex-Las Palmas forward.

But the players that are counting for the future and that should return to Deportivo are central defender Aythami Artiles and defensive midfielder Alex Bergantińos, both loaned at CD Xérez since the past season. At Segunda División, Alex was able to complete 31 appearances (21 as starter), while Aythami shone with his 33 games as starter and also with his four goals scored.

Both were considered as important players at the squad and the Andalusians negotiated a new loan with Lendoiro, this time to perform at Primera División. And despite that Xérez is currently the last place at the standings, the true is that the duo loaned by Depor is having an important participation wit the team. So far Alex has played in 14 of the 15 games played so far, with 13 appearances as starter and 1,184 minutes on the pitch. The Galician midfielder just missed to play the game against Depor, this since it is his parent club, and to have in mind that it is the debuting season at Primera for the 24-year-old player.

Meanwhile Aythami has taken part in 13 of the 15 games played until this point of the season, also with 13 appearances as starter and adding 1,170 minutes on the pitch plus one goal scored, one of the games that he missed to play was the one against Depor, of course for contractual reasons. Actually the duo from Depor are third and four in terms of minutes played at the Andalusian squad, just surpassed by keeper Renan Brito and side defender Francisco Jesús Pérez ‘Francis’, both have played completely the 15 matches played so far.
