DEPOR RETURNS TO WORK

29 Dec 2009
The team already returned to train after the Christmas break, four players will join the sessions on Tuesday, while Lotina talked about the status of his team and also about David Rochela.

Deportivo retuned to train on Monday’s evening after spending one week of vacations, the whole squad was there with the exceptions of Andrés Guardado, Filipe Luis, Juca and Diego Colotto, quartet that has permission to join the sessions until Tuesday as they spent their Christmas holidays in America. Lassad, Riki and Mista were working apart as they are recovering from their injuries. What called the attention was the presence of Fabril’s David Rochela working with the first team.

After the session ended, coach Miguel Angel Lotina talked at the press room of Abegondo, “People has returned well, I see the players are hoping to continue, tomorrow we will see the weight of the men, but it doesn’t look bad. I already said that that the pause was good for us in a physiological sense, but not in the physical aspect, however all the players have worked during the vacations period.”

About the presence of David Rochela,  wit the team, the coach said that, “We will allow the incorporation of Rochela throughout the season. About the rest, there’s nothing, because I don’t want to see the players losing the concentration, our best signings will be the recovery of the men that are currently out: Mista, Lassad or Riki.”

Finally, Lotina confirmed that he isn’t approving the exit of Piscu to Real Betis, “Piscu is very important for the team and for the environment at the changing room, I don’t want anybody leaving, he isn’t going out; besides  Bodipo has said that he is not leaving and that is now one more player. He is a great central defender, but Lopo and Colotto are shinning, I won’t change just for the matter of changing, we have one of the best central zones in Spain.”

Meanwhile, the next rival in la liga is Real Zaragoza, team that started to train on Saturday (the first Spanish team to return from the Christmas break), the novelties are the confirmation of Jose Aurelio Gay as the head coach of the team, he replaced Marcelino Toral for the visit to Real Madrid, and on Friday it was ratified that he will stay for the rest of the season.

On Monday it was announced that former player Mohammed Alí Amar ‘Nayim’ is going to be the second coach of the team, while the officials of the club are desperate to solve the relegation problems of Zaragoza with new signings, so far several names have been linked with the Aragonian club: Numancia’s Mario, Real Madrid’s Christoph Metzelder, Manchester United’s Federico Macheda and ex-Betis’ keeper Toni Doblas.
