On Friday Depor started to prepare the liga clash against Osasuna; all eyes are upon the attacking zone as Lotina has several casualties, he could even call a Fabril’s player in order to complete the squad. The rival only has two absences for the game.

Deportivo started to prepare the liga confrontation against Osasuna (Sunday, Riazor, 17h00 CET); and coach Miguel Angel Lotina is having big problems with the strikers. Riki fell down injured during the Copa clash with Valencia and on Friday it was confirmed that he suffered a muscular injury on the adductor of his left knee, which means that the Madrilenian will be out of action between two and three weeks. He could end up missing three liga matches plus the Copa games to be played on January.

Meanwhile Lassad Nouioui isn’t ready yet, the Tunisian attacker took part of the trip to Zaragoza and Valencia, but he is not fit enough to play a game. Something confirmed by doctor Barral, “He isn’t ready yet. Despite it seems that he is ready to train at the same pace than the others, he still need to work apart. Let’s see if he would be ready for next week.” He said. Lassad suffered a stress fracture at the end of November  and hasn’t played since that moment.

Another striker out of action is Mista, he still struggling with a groin problem and the doctors decided to rest him as a precaution measure. The Murcian attacker missed almost the entire past season due to a similar problem and the doctors don’t want to take risks. Finally, Rodolfo Bodipo has missed the last matches due to a knee injury. The good news is that he worked without problems on Friday and could be picked for the clash against Osasuna.

This means that Adrián and Bodipo are the only strikers fit to play for the upcoming matches in liga against Osasuna and Mallorca and for the Copa clash with Valencia. For this reason and in order to avoid unexpected new problems, Lotina decided to pick two strikers from Fabril: Hugo Garcia and David Añon. Both worked with the first team during Friday and could be called for the game against the Navarrans, Fabril is not playing on the weekend since it has the matchday off, therefore Lotina could select any player that he wants.

However, it isn’t probable that Lotina will pick a player from Depor B, the same coach said after the game at Mestalla that the youngsters at Tito Ramallo’s team still have to mature, also to appoint that the major part of the strikers at Deportivo B are not passing through their best moment, Hugo Garcia has a strong start, but is scoreless within the last nine matches at Tercera, while Joshua Corrales has just scored once after nine presentations.

Meanwhile David Añon is a striker/playmaker that has been performing as a left winger with Depor B; on this season he has scored once after sixteen matches and is the best assistor at the B team with six assists. It calls the attention that Lotina didn’t pick winger/striker Luis Angel, who is the Pichichi of the B team with six goals scored. In any case, Lotina will probably prefer to count with Adrian and Bodipo for the clash against Osasuna, and any addition from the B squad will depend on new injury cases.

In other positions, midfielder Juca also completed Friday’s training session without any problem, therefore the Brazilian could also have a chance in Sunday’s game, though the doctors are also trying to be cautious with him. Lotina will test on Saturday’s morning the lineup to be used against the Navarrans, then he will release the list of picked players.

Meanwhile, Osasuna’s coach Camacho is only having two casualties for the game: central defenders Sergio Fernández and Oier San. Another central defender, Josetxo Romero, is returning after missing the liga game with Real Madrid due to suspension. It is expected that Camacho will use a similar lineup to the one that faced the Madrilenians, on Thursday the Navarrans lost against Hércules playing for Copa Del Rey (1-2), but with nine changes compared to the team that performed in liga.

Also, Osasuna was trying to hire a striker during the winter window and was related with Recreativo’s striker Adrían Colunga. They negotiated an exchange for young striker Jorge Galán, but this last player refused to leave Osasuna, reason why the deal was broken.
