Lotina seems to have a clear picture of the squad that will face Villarreal at El Madrigal; Ze Castro and Antonio Tomás are the novelties, while the doubt is who will be the central attacker.

It is an important clash for both Deportivo and Villarreal, teams that are now focused in la liga after the Yellow Submarine was eliminated in the Europa League. Lotina is aware of the importance of the game and plans changes since he is losing his best defender (Lopo) and the Pichichi at the team (Riki); however he will keep playing with the 4-2-3-1 system.

The first novelty is occurring at defence, Albert Lopo is suspended and Lotina announced since Wednesday that his place will be taken by Zé Castro, the Portuguese didn’t train on Friday due to a gastric problem, but doctors are sure that the Portuguese will be fit to train on Saturday. Zé Castro already said in public that he is not feeling comfortable with his role as substitute, and on Friday he lost a battle for the upcoming FIFA World Cup as he wasn’t included in the list for next week friendly game between Portugal and China.

His team mate at the centre of the defence will be Colotto, while Manuel Pablo and Laure will continue at the sides. Another novelty is the return of Antonio Tomás for suspension in order to claim one of the spots at midfield, his partner should be Juca.

According to what has been seen in the trainings, Juan Rodriguez will move his position to the playmaker’s role, while Pablo Alvarez and Andrés Guardado will attack from both wings. The duo was dragging muscular problems since the past game with Xérez, but on Friday both were already fine.

The big question is who will be the central attacker in the formation; Adrián and Bodipo are the main candidates, while it isn’t probable that Mista will play, as least at starter. To mention that  Bodipo has been a starter in the last three liga encounters and still searching for his first goal of the liga season, while Adrián is passing through a drought period of  785 minutes without scoring a goal.

On Friday, keeper Dani Aranzubia talked of the importance of the game, he said that Depor must be alert despite the complicate moment lived by the Yellow Submarine, “Villarreal is a team that isn’t used to lose, and to lose two games in a short period of time is not normal for them. I am sure they will try to change the things in front of their fans. We are conscious of the importance of the game, it is a direct rival and we are aware of the importance of the meeting.”

Later the Basque man was saying that the players aren’t yet thinking of Europe as the goal for the season, “I don’t know if it’s correct to say now that our goal is to reach the UEFA (Europa League), we said that we will think of it in the last third part of the tournament and we are almost there.”
