All eyes are over Lassad, the striker could be picked for the first time in 2010. Meanwhile, Lotina waits for Guardado’s return from international action. At Tenerife, coach Oltra has problems with his side defenders.

Lotina will continue to have several casualties for the upcoming liga matches; against Tenerife the Basque manager knows that he won’t be able to count with six players: Angulo, Filipe, Sergio, Juca, Riki and Zé Castro. This last one traveled to Portugal, because he is desperate to know the origin of the gastric problems that he suffered before the game at Villarreal.

The agent of the defender, Nuno Ramos Patrao, told to reporters that the reason of the trip is to pass some medicals and determine the cause of his current physical problems, “His mother is a doctor and he will pass some scans under his supervision, nothing more” Patrao told to La Voz de Galicia. Depor expects that the player will return to La Coruña on Monday.

But the centre of the attention is not the injured men, but Lassad Nouioui; the Tunisian striker has been out since the end of November and this week he has surprised everybody as the attacker completed the training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday without any problem, enough reasons to believe that he might be included in the list for Saturday’s clash against CD Tenerife (Riazor, 18h00 CET).

However, for the moment not even Lotina knows if he will be included in the list for the game, as second coach Ribera told to Riazor.org, “We don’t know yet, maybe he could be available if he doesn’t have any problem and continues to train normally. Later there are other aspects that should be taken in mind, as example the long period that he passed without working at the same level than his team mates.”

On Wednesday Lotina told to a reporter that he will talk to Lassad and will decide at the end of the week if he will be called or not, but what the Basque man assured is that the Tunisian will be picked for the clash against Sevilla (March 13).

Other striker that might return is Mista, the Murcian attacker has already surpassed a groin problem, but Lotina hasn’t picked him for the previous two games as the coach thinks that he still missing match fitness. These two “incorporations” will strengthen an offensive line that has been pretty weak, actually Depor only scored two goals in February and ended scoreless in three of the four matches disputed in the month.

Lately, Rodolfo Bodipo and Adrián López have alternated the position of central attacker, but both a re passing through a difficult moment; Bodipo is not adding anything new to the squad and still scoreless in liga, while Adrián accumulates now 867 minutes without scoring a goal at Primera, curiously the Asturian scored a goal with Spain U-21 squad just minutes after jumping into the grass (3-1 win over Lichtenstein), something that might motivate him.

Beyond the problems in attack, Lotina is waiting for the return of Andrés Guardado, who was playing with Mexico a friendly game against New Zealand (05h00 CET). The Mexican winger told to the media that he isn’t at the top after surpassing a stress fracture injury, and the long trip from the United States (the game was played in Pasadena) might affect his match fitness. His return is expected for Friday, just one day before the game against Tenerife. However, the coach told to reporters that his plan is to count with the Mexican for the match.

Meanwhile, the coach of CD Tenerife, José Luis Oltra, is having problems with his usual side defenders. Left-back defender Carlos Bellvis is almost discarded for the game at the Riazor due to a knee abductor injury, while right-back Marc Bertrán didn’t end Wednesday’s training session after sustained a muscular injury on his left thigh, new scans will be made on Thursday, but it seems difficult that he will be ready for Saturday’s clash in La Coruña.
