Depor B conquered the championship in the Galician group of Tercera and it did with a new powerful presentation playing away from home; the heroes were Luis Angel and Diego Rivas. Now the team targets the promotion to Segunda B.

Again, coach Tito Ramallo was having the casualties of side defenders Seoane and Raúl, plus David Rochela, the three of them were joining the first team for the home game against UD Almeria. For that reason the coach picked again right-back defender José Manuel from Juvenil A.  Marcos Valín, Diego Vieytes and Momar were also out for injury reasons, while Juan Dominguez is no longer available after signing a professional contract with Depor’s first team.

As it’s usual in recent games the coach kept the 4-3-2-1 scheme; Diego Rivas was returning to his previous home and was the keeper, Jose Manuel performed at the right-back position, Cristian Valle was on the left, while French Karl was one of the three novelties performing alongside Castillo at the centre of the defence. The three pivotes were Hector, performing at the centre, Dani, playing towards the right, and Juan Carlos, who was the second novelty replacing Richi, performing towards the left. The playmakers were David Añon and Luis Angel. The final modification compared to the previous game was Joshua playing as the central attacker.

The coach of Narón Balompié, Luis Miguel Garcia, was also having several casualties, because defenders Diego Martínez, Oscar López and Diego Piñeiro, plus ex-Depor midfielder Javi Redondo were all out for injury reasons, while striker Ignacio Menéndez ‘Iñaki’ was suspended.

Deportivo conquered the title at the Galician group of Tercera División and it did it with another brilliant display playing away from home. The team of Tito Ramallo dominated the actions since the start and things were much easier after the first goal as Narón opened its lines in the quest for the equaliser. Things were much more complicated in the second part, but the team reacted led by Luis Angel and also by keeper Diego Rivas, who stopped a penalty.

The first scoring attempt came at minute five, and it was for Luis Angel, the most active player at the visiting team, he found the ball at the edge of the area when he was backwards the goal, then he turned off and released a strong shot that hit the left post of local keeper Simon Carbacos. Fabril was having the ball possession and the locals never found the way to overcome the defensive wall of the visitors, however there wasn’t any clear opportunity within the next thirty-four minutes.

And the first goal came when the match was becoming boring, Joshua Corrales started the play as he drilled a pass from the left and into the path of Luis Angel, the Canarian was at the edge of the area and entered into the penalty zone when he was alone and bet the keeper with a drilling shot that entered into the net by the right post. It is the 12th goal on the season for the Pichichi of the team.

Six minutes later the second goal came in a similar play, again Joshua was the assistor, this time drilling a cross from the right side, the ball passed between three defenders and David Añon found it at the six-yard-box to score the goal with a drilling shot to the near post of Simón. It’s his fourth goal in liga. Suddenly, Depor B had a two-goal advantage and the championship seemed defined at half-time.

The situation didn’t change at the start of the second half and Depor B had two clear chances to score a third goal, first it was Luis Angel after Juan Carlos found the ball at the edge of the area, he assisted the Canarian as he entered into the penalty zone by the right side, but in the end the crossed shot of the playmaker missed the target.

A few minutes later it was Joshua who missed the goal, this after receiving a pass that left him alone against Simon, but the striker lasted too much to define the play and in the end the keeper cleared the danger. Then there was a relaxation at Fabril and Narón grew up in the game. The locals had two clear attempts to reduce the distance in the scoresheet.

The first was the clearest one as the locals missed a penalty; the play started with Karl, who lost the ball at the edge of the area against Rubén Gomez, then the striker entered into the area and released a shot that was firstly saved by Diego Rivas, then the rebound was found by Juanito and the referee whistled a doubtful penalty after a challenge of Valle over the local midfielder, the true is that both players collided as both were searching for the ball. Midfielder Héber Pena took the penalty, but Diego Rivas deflected the ball and then it hit the left post to end cleared by the defensive line.

Just a few minutes later  Héber missed again a great chance after collecting a high cross coming from the right, he was at the far post but his final effort missed the target. Then Ramallo made the first substitution allowing the entry of Chirri for Añon, and it was the right move, because with the locals unleashed searching for the goal they left too many spaces at the back, which was perfect for the velocity of the winger. And the third goal came with a quick counterattack started by Luis Angel, the Canarian made a long pass drilling the ball into the path of Chirri, who ran 30-meters to elude Simon and score the goal with a crossed shot from close range. It’s the fourth goal on the season for the 19-year-old winger.

The goal killed the will of Naron and Fabril spent the last twenty minutes relieved after all the problems spent in the previous minutes, then Ramallo allowed the entries of right-back Alberto Valencia and striker Hugo Garcia, and this last one was going to score the fourth goal in the game. This time the play was started by José Manuel, who joined the attack from the right to end drilling a perfect pass into the path of the Ourense-born attacker, who was entering to the penalty zone by the right, the pass was so great that the striker didn’t need to touch the ball until he faced the local keeper, then Hugo bet Simon with a drilling shot that went to the near post. This is his eighth goal on the liga season.

Huge win for a Deportivo B that’s living its best moment on the season as it added its seventh straight victory at Tercera –the longest streak on the campaign- All the lines at the squad were great and Luis Angel shone again with his goal and assist, while Diego Rivas stopped a penalty. Now, with only three matchdays remaining in the calendar, Fabril has a ten-point difference with second place Cerceda, which means that the team is now the Champion of the group, reason why the players celebrated at the pitch of Rio Seco.

The importance of ending first in the group is because Depor B will only have to face one series in the promotion playoffs to Segunda B, this series will be against another of the winners at the other groups. For the moment Ramallo has three more games to prepare the aim of the squad, starting with the home match against third place Coruxo FC (Abegondo, Sunday, 18h00 CET)

Comments of Tito Ramallo:, ”At the beginning of the season we had three goals: to qualify to the playoffs, to end first and to be promoted. To enter into the playoffs was an obligation, but we also wanted this first place, now we want to take advantage of the double opportunity in order to be promoted. About the game, we played with criteria and made a lot of damage.”
