THE DAY OF FABRIL

22 May 2010
Deportivo B searches the promotion to Segunda B in the second-leg of the playoffs against Burgos FC; for it coach Ramallo has all his players available and hopes to feel the support of the fans at the Riazor.

Today is the big day for Fabril, the team coached by Tito Ramallo made a great season at Tercera División and now it only needs a win to certify its promotion to Segunda División B. On the past Saturday the B squad of Deportivo achieved a 0-0 draw at El Plantio and now needs to defeat Burgos CF at the Riazor in order to conquer the objective.

However it is a dangerous situation, because in the playoffs the goals scored in the visiting condition count as double in the tiebreak, and any goal from Burgos means that Fabril will need two in order to conquer the promotion.

Despite the advantage of been the local team, coach Ramallo still thinking that things are pretty tight, “I believe that everything stills 50% for each side, maybe since we are playing at home, and after what we saw at El Plantio, we can give us a little advantage and maybe the percentage is 55% for us and 45% for them.”

“Riazor was always an ally in the promotion playoffs; if we play at the stadium is because we want to give more facilities to the people that want to come and watch the game, but we won’t be affected. I know some people will be saying that the best is to stay where we always played (Abegondo), while others will support this decision. But right now we only think that this stadium has been an ally in this kind of competitions.” He added.

Later the coach was trying to release pressure from his players, “We don’t have any obligation; we don’t feel to be carrying a big weight as the team was forced to achieve the promotion, maybe it could be in that way for Burgos. We want to be promoted, but don’t have that obligation and neither the anxiety to do it. Our responsibility is more emotive than sporting.”

For the match Ramallo has all his players available an the big doubt is who is going to be the starting striker; on the regular season the job was for Hugo Garcia, the Ourense-born attacker was starter in 21 occasions and ended as the second best scorer at the team (9), but in the first-leg Ramallo opted to play with Joshua Corrales, this no matter the ex-Villarreal only scored three goals on the season.

Another doubt is if Ramallo will continue using the 4-3-2-1 scheme that has gave good results in the last part of the tournament. The alternative is to return to the classic 4-2-3-1. Meanwhile, it seems that only Richi from Juvenil A will take part of the match, this since the squad is playing on Sunday the returning leg in Copa against Real Sociedad Juvenil.
