Murcian striker Mista is leaving Deportivo after reaching an agreement with the club; he was ending contract in 2011, but now is free to sign for anybody else, and Depor doesn’t have to pay any compensation to him.

The club informed that striker Miguel Angel Ferrer ‘Mista’ has been released after he and the club agreed to cancel his contract. The Murcian attacker and the Galician club had a meeting with the intermediation of the SMAC (Service of Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation).

The resolution is that Mista is now free to sign for any other club in the world, as exchange Depor doesn’t have to pay the wages remaining in the last year of his contract. The striker had a conversation with coach Miguel Angel Lotina at the end of the past season and the Basque told him that he was out of the plans for the 2010/11 campaign, that’s why Mista decided to leave.

Mista arrived to Deportivo in the summer of 2008 coming from Atletico Madrid, this after been part of Real Madrid, Tenerife and Valencia, club where he won a UEFA Cup and a UEFA Supercup. Chased by the injuries, the striker only played 26 liga matches in two liga seasons.

He only completed two solid presentations at Depor; the first one was in his first game wearing the Blanquiazul shirt as he scored one goal in the 2-1 victory over Real Madrid. Almost one year and a half later, he made another solid presentation against other Madrilenian club, Getafe, this time the Murcian scored a goal and gave an assist to lead to a 2-0 win over Getafe.
