The club is close to sign the renewal of central defender Piscu, but it doesn’t mean that the Galician player will be part of the squad for next season, because he could be loaned to another Primera club.

A few days ago Depor Sport wrote that the club was close to complete the renewal for one more year of Adrián López ‘Piscu’. The central defender is ending contraction June; Depor has been trying to extend his deal since some months ago, but it was until this week that the postures with his agent, Eugenio Botas, started to approach.

However, this advance doesn’t mean that the player will stay at Deportivo, this since there’s an overbooking at Depor’s defensive sector. Lopo and Colotto will continue to be the starters; therefore anybody else will have little options to play. That’s exactly what already happened on the season 2009/10 as Piscu only played three games in liga and five in Copa Del Rey.

The key to decide the future of Piscu is related to the situation of Ze Castro; the Portuguese is another player stuck in the overbooking at defense; Depor is seriously thinking in selling the Portuguese central defender, and his exit will also mark what will happen with Piscu.

According to La Voz de Galicia, if Ze Castro leaves then Lotina will give the chance to Piscu to decide if he wants to stay as the third central defender at the squad, if he doesn’t want to stay the Galician player will be loaned and the spot will be for Canarian Aythami Artiles. And if Ze Castro stays, Piscu will be surely loaned to another Primera club.
