Central defender Adrian Lopez ‘Piscu’ could be signing his renewal with Deportivo in the coming days; it was something confirmed by the agent of the player, Eugenio Botas, who also talked of the case with striker Adrian

Five days are remaining in June and central defender Adrián López ‘ Piscu’ haven’t signed yet the renewal of his contract; the Galician was promoted three seasons ago and he made a good job covering the casualty of Lopo; Lotina was so happy with him that the coach decided to leave him at the first squad.

But the competence was so intense at the centre of the defense that Piscu has barely played within the last two seasons, actually he only participated in nine official games during the past campaign (three in liga and six in Copa). Maybe that’s why he has taken so long in order to accept or deny the renewal offer from the club.

And on Friday the agent of the Galician player, Eugenio Botas, talked to Riazor.org and confirmed that the conversations are progressing, actually he said the renewal would be for two more seasons, “Let’s see what happens. The renewal is close to happen, and it will be for two years, not one. We still have to talk.”

Lotina trusts in Piscu, but at the same time the Basque man knows there’s no room for the player ahead of next season. That’s why he’s planning to loan the defender if he accepts the renewal offer, as he told to Riazor.org, “I am very happy with him, because he is a kid that always trains well, and that always fulfills the job when he plays. But within the last two years he has only played a few games and maybe it’s time to see him playing 40 games in another place in order to grow. I still thinking he will be the future central defender of Deportivo.”

Therefore the plans of Lotina are to promote David Rochela from Fabril and to keep Aythami Artiles, who is coming back from Xérez, while Piscu could be loaned out. For the moment he has been linked with Sporting Gijón and with recent promoted club Hercules. But before everything, Piscu has to accept the renewal offer from Deportivo.

The other Adrian Lopez at Deportivo, the Asturian attacker, is also represented by Eugenio Botas. He ends his contract in 2011 and Depor has been pushing for a renewal, but the player hasn’t accepted. The agent explained the state of the conversations, “We have talked to Deportivo, and although we haven’t reached an agreement we are having daily conversations, and he still have one year of contract. We are talking to Deportivo and period.”

As it could be interpreted, the case of the striker seems more complicated, actually rumours say that Valencia FC is interested in him, and even Radio Galega informed during the week that he might have an agreement with the Valencian club in order to join it after ending his contract at Deportivo.
