Fabril’s keeper Marcos Valín is still recovering from a serious knee injury, but already has been told he will leave the team since there’s no room for him in the new squad that Ramallo is preparing for the Segunda B season.

Marcos Valín is still working with the physiotherapists and still going to Depor’s gym in the attempt to surpass the serious knee injury that he suffered three months ago. And on this week he received more bad news as he was informed that Fabril won’t give him a spot ahead of the new Segunda B season.

On March 29, the 22-year-old keeper suffered a serious injury during a training session with the first squad. The problem occurred when the substitutes were taking part of a training match at Abegondo (the starters were having a massage session). In order to fill the gaps Valín was performing as a midfielder and he twisted his knee as he tried to follow Iván Pérez during a play.

The scans confirmed what the doctors feared: an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which has also affected the meniscus. A few days later he was operated and it is expected that he will return to play on September or October. Ironically, that was supposed to be a good week for Valín, because he was picked for the first time for a Primera match (against Getafe at the Riazor), this since Dani Aranzubia was suspended and Manu had to debut as starter in la liga.

Now, the ex-Lugo keeper is out of Deportivo since Fabril’s coach Tito Ramallo has decided that Diego Rivas and Eduardo Sousa ‘Edu’ are going to be the two goalkeepers of the B squad ahead of the season 2010/2011.

Valín was wishing to continue at Deportivo, but now will have to search for a new destiny; he was feeling disappointed during an interview with newspaper La Voz de Galicia, ” "You do not know where you're going to play, but if not, I would have remained alone, so ... Now I know that I have to search for a new club."
