Deportivo begins today the pre-season 2010/2011; the players will have a small reunion at the Riazor and will start to train tomorrow. Lotina has 28 players and will need to discard some men within the coming weeks.

The vacations are over, the version 2010/2011 of Deportivo returns today to work in order to prepare the new liga campaign. The squad will attend to the Riazor during the afternoon (20h30 CET) and Lotina will give a speech at the dressing room ahead of the pre-season stage. Then the players will start to train on Friday at Abegondo.

Thursday’s meeting will also be useful to present the four new faces of the club: Michel, Desmarets, Urreta and Saúl. And it’s that the four of them and president Lendoiro will jump to the grass of the Riazor in order to meet the public (19h00 CET).

At this starting point of the pre-season Lotina has twenty-eight players at the first squad, and in the coming days he will have to discard at least three men in order to complete the list that will be inscribed in la liga. For the moment the main candidates are Alex Bergantiños, Ruben Castro, Iván Pérez and Aythami Artiles, plus Filipe Luis, who could be transferred.

For the moment Lotina will start the trainings with twenty-four players: Aranzubia, Manu, Manuel Pablo, Laure, Lopo, Colotto, Adrián López ‘Piscu’, Aythami, Filipe, Antonio Tomás, Juan Rodriguez, Juca, Juan Dominguez, Alex, Pablo Alvarez, Saúl, Iván Pérez, Desmarets, Urreta, Michel, Valerón, Riki, Lassad and Adrian.

The names of David Rochela, Raúl Garcia and Diego Seoane must be added to the list as the three of them will also train with the first team. It is expected that Rochela will stay all season long with the first squad, while the other two youngsters will train during the week with the first team and on the weekends will play with Deportivo B.

Other three players will join the squad within the coming days, starting with Ze Castro, who will return on July 12 since he spent a few days concentrated with Portugal’s national team, Ruben Castro returns on July 20 since the Segunda season just ended in June, while Andrés Guardado will be the last man to join the pre-season stage as he’s returning until July 28, this since the Mexican winger took part of the FIFA World Cup 2010.

Depor’s squad will train during one week at Abegondo, then the players will travel to Switzerland (July 19) in order to have a mini concentration in Grenchen. The headquarters will be at Grand Hotel des Bains in Yverdon Les Bains, and includes two friendly matches for the Uhrencup 2010 (July 20 & 23), then the team will travel to Berlin (Germany) in order to play a third friendly against FC Union Berlin (July 25).
