It seems that the bid for Filipe Luis will finally begging; and it’s that Barcelona is joining Atletico Madrid in the race for the Brazilian, while Inter Milan still linked with the player.

Atletico Madrid was the first club to get interested in Filipe Luis during the summer window; the Madrilenians presented an offer of twelve million Euros that was rejected by president Augusto César Lendoiro basically because it wasn’t a cash payment.

At the beginning it was rumoured that the offer was including the transfer of midfielder Ignacio Camacho and striker Diego Costa, but Depor’s boss confirmed later that he will only accept an offer with money. He also told to reporters that he gave his word to the player about letting him go if a good offer appears.

On Thursday, Spanish website sportyou.es informed that the sporting director of Atletico, Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, have reached an initial agreement with Lendoiro, and that the deal was between the twelve and the fifteen million Euros, though the same problem of the cash payment was still blocking the operation.

However, on the same day Catalan paper Sport wrote in its cover page that with the renewal of coach Guardiola (he signed a one-year contract on Wednesday) the Catalans are now targeting three players ahead of the season 2010/11: Cesc Fabregas, Javi Martinez and Filipe Luis. The source emphasized that these three men are now the main target of the club.

The Catalan paper calculates that the operation could reach the fourteen million Euros. On the past summer the operation with Barcelona was blocked due to the procedure of former president Joan Laporta, but now things might be easier with new president Sandro Rosell.

Sport also wrote that there’s a third club interested in the player: Inter Milan. Since the past week it has been rumoured that the Italians are ready to enter into the race since new coach Rafa Benitez likes the skills of Filipe, but the true is that nobody from Inter has contacted Deportivo in order to express their interest.

In resume, Atletico Madrid still the only club that has presented an offer for Filipe Luis, but the situation will change soon as Barcelona already put the defender in its list of wishes. Meanwhile Depor hopes that Inter could be the third club entering into the bid, which could increase the price of the player.
