It seems that Lotina already has a lineup ahead of the liga debut against Real Zaragoza; on Thursday the Basque tested a 4-2-3-1 scheme; with Morel, Laure and Adrian as the main novelties.

On Thursday, Deportivo trained at the Riazor behind closed doors, it was the first tactical preparation before a liga encounter, despite the secrecy the reporters managed to learn the scheme that coach Miguel Angel Lotina is planning to use: the classical 4-2-3-1.

And the same Basque manager confirmed the plans as he told to reporters that, “I have chosen the 4-2-3-1 after meeting the new signings. For the 4-3-3 we need real wingers, and the three we have signed, Saul, Desmarets and Urreta, aren’t like that. They are players that prefer to make long runs, but aren’t real wingers. At midfield we have enough people for the 4-3-3, but we don’t have the attackers for it.”

So, Depor’s coach is convinced to return to the system that prevails in Spain and that has been used at the club since the times with Irureta. According to what was saw on Thursday the plan against Real Zaragoza is to play with Manu at the goal, Laure claiming the starting role at the right-back position as Manuel Pablo still doubtful (thigh), while the centre of the defence will be for Lopo and Colotto.

One of the novelties is that Claudio Morel is now the main candidate for the left side, the Paraguayan was just presented on Wednesday, but it seems that he is going directly into the starting lineup, which means that he already won the first ‘battle’ against his competitor Olav ‘Rinda’ Rindarøy

At midfield, all appoints that Lotina will still using the same couple of last season for the pivote functions: Antonio Tomas and Juan Rodriguez. It was expected that Ruben Pérez was going to have a chance, but it seems that Depor’s coach will keep him at the bench.

The right wing could be for Saul Fernandez, other new signing, Michel, could be performing at the playmaking position and Guardado should be the left winger. A novelty is that Adrian was tested as the starting striker leaving Riki on the bench; it seems that the offensive display of the Asturian against SS Lazio has convinced Lotina.
