THE LAST TRAINING OF THE WEEK

03 Sep 2010
On Thursday’s evening Deportivo completed the fifth and last training session of the week, now the players will rest during the weekend and will return until Monday in order to prepare the clash against Sevilla. The doubts are Ze Castro and Aranzubia.

Deportivo’s squad completed five training sessions during the week; the last two were resistance tests in order to check the physical state of the players. The big news was to see playmaker Michel working at the same pace than the rest, actually he was the player that had the best results during the tests. The Valencian player was replaced before half-time in the game against Zaragoza and now seems ready for the visit to Sevilla FC (Sunday Sept 12, 21h00 CET)

About the other injury cases the two players that still on doubt are goalkeeper Daniel Aranzubia (shoulder) and Ze Castro (adductor). The case of Portuguese central defender still uncertain as the he was still feeling pain and the problem could lead him to miss the game with Sevilla, something that will be defined on next week. Also uncertain is the case of Aranzubia, who doesn’t know yet if will be able to play against Sevilla despite been training with the rest of goalkeepers.

On Thursday he talked to reporters at Abegondo’s press room, Each day I am feeling better; things were slower than I thought, but now I'm feeling better. On this week I have trained with normality and the sensations are pretty good. Last year I suffered a problem during the season that was quickly surpassed, but it reappeared at the end. I didn’t give much importance to it thinking that would be fine after the holidays, but when I started training the same problem returned and decided to stop and then to start all over again.” Questioned that if he will be fit enough for the game against Sevilla, he just answered that, Right now I don’t know, maybe, maybe not.”

Other player that had physical problems was Yves Desmarets, he suffered a knee problem on Wednesday, and didn’t train on Thursday's morning, but the scans determined that his left knee is fine and the French winger joined the trainings during the afternoon. Also, on Thursday it was possible to see Rochela, Felipe Ramos, Diego Vela and Joshua from Fabril working with the first team. Finally, the team will rest on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and will return to the training camp on Monday; the exceptions will be Morel, Aranzubia and Michel, trio that will work within the next three days in order to improve their physical condition.
