Straight clean sheets for Depor in the first two matchdays of the liga season are allowing two draws and the first points, but for the first time since 1969 the Galician team is not scoring any goal after the first two games in the competition.

The first two matchdays are bringing a double reading for Deportivo; firstly the Galicians are still showing the same solidity in defence of past seasons, something that has led to two straight clean sheets, including the last one in the visit to one of the main contenders for the top places, Sevilla FC. Currently Depor and Real Madrid are the only two clubs that haven’t allowed a goal at Primera División.

In this way it is the sixth time in which Depor starts a Primera season with two straight clean sheets, the last one was on the season 2005/06 as Caparrós’ Deportivo achieved two victories in the first two matchdays (1-0 at Mallorca and 1-0 Vs Atletico Madrid).

The other five opportunities in which Depor started a Primera campaign with two straight clean sheets occurred after the last promotion to the top division in Spain: 1992/93 (0-0 Vs Celta & 2-0 at Sporting); 1998/99 (0-0 at Celta & 1-0 Vs Valencia); 2000/01 (2-0 Vs Athletic Bilbao & 3-0 at Racing); 2001/02 (4-0 Vs Valladolid & 1-0 at Las Palmas) and 2003/04 (1-0 at Zaragoza & 2-0 Vs Athletic Bilbao).

But at the same time it can’t be forgotten that neither Depor has scored goals after the first two matchdays of la liga; now the only scoreless clubs at Primera División are Deportivo Osasuna, Racing Santander and RCD Mallorca. Something that it isn't surprising as Lotina’s Depor has had big problems in this department and actually, the Galicians remain as the worst scorer in 2010 with only 16 goals scored in 25 liga encounters

This is just the fourth time in which Depor remains scoreless after the first two matchdays at Primera División, the last opportunity was on the season 1969/70; occasion when Depor started the campaign with two straight defeats (0-1 Vs Zaragoza and 0-1 at Barcelona FC).

The other two occasions occurred during the 1960’s: 1964/65 (0-2 Vs Zaragoza and 0-4 at Betis) and 1966/67 (0-1 Vs Valencia & 0-1 at Córdoba). To appoint that in this last season Depor lost 0-1 Vs Atletico Madrid and 0-3 at Sabadell in the next two matchdays, which is the historic negative record at the club: no goals within the first four games in liga.
