Lotina has some doubts ahead of the clash with Getafe, starting with the fact that Guardado is injured, other doubt is at playmaking function and at the goal. Meanwhile Getafe is losing Gavilán for Monday’s encounter.

Left winger Andrés Guardado is doubtful ahead of the clash with Getafe (Monday, 21h00 CET). The Mexican didn’t train on Wednesday and Thursday, and on Friday he only completed part of the session that took place at the Riazor, this due to a thigh problem. However, the coaching staff expects that he will be fit enough for Monday’s night.

The other injured player at the squad is Juan Dominguez (thigh), he already started to train and should be back in two weeks. For the occasion the doubts of coach Miguel Angel Lotina are more related to tactical aspects rather than to injury cases, because the Basque man hasn’t decided yet who will the playmaker in the formation and neither the couple that will cover the pivote functions nor the central striker.

On Friday the team trained some offensive plays, especially the movements of the wingers, the crosses into the area and the finalization of the plays. But no clear lineup was tested. Besides, the club announced that Felipe Ramos will work with Fabril during the weekend and that he will probably be in the match of Fabril against Badajoz (Saturday, 17h30), this means that Dani Aranzubia will be at least on the bench for the match against Getafe.

In the end, the coach has four tactical doubts ahead of the match: the position of goalkeeper (Manu or Aranzubia); the two pivotes (Ruben Perez, Antonio Tomás, Juan Rodriguez or Juca), the playmaker’s role (Valerón, Michel, Lassad or Desmarets) and the central attacker (Riki, Lassad or Adrian). Besides to the possibility of replacing Guardado on the left wing. On Saturday the team will only complete a massage session at Abegondo, therefore the final decision about the lineup will be taken until Sunday.

At Getafe, the team coached by Michel is having a nice start of season, it lost in the opening matchday against RCD Espanyol (1-3), but in the second game the Madrilenian defeated UD Levante (4-1) and on Thursday they clinched their first win in the Europa League as they came back in the score to defeat Odense BK (2-1).

The bad news is that in the game with the Danish side they lost Jaime Gavilán due to a muscular problem, and it’s expected that he will be out for two weeks, meaning that he will skip the clash with Deportivo. The ex-Valencia winger is an important piece in the scheme of Michel and scored twice against Levante.

At least the Madrilenians have no problem with their trio of strikers: Javier Arizmendi, Adrian Colunga and Miku. Ex-Depor Arizmendi is returning to the Riazor after scoring a goal in the games with Levante and Odense, while ex-Zaragoza Colunga also scored a goal in the last match in liga, and it should be reminded that Venezuelan Miku was the one that scored twice in last season’s victory of Getafe at the Riazor (3-1).

Besides, striker Manu Del Moral has surpassed the Achilles problem that left him out of the game with Odense, while winger Juan Albín has surpassed the adductor injury that forced him to miss the match for the Europa League and also the liga encounter with Levante.
