Fourth confrontation between these two coaches; Depor’s manager didn’t confirm any name on his lineup, while both coaches were complaining for the fact of been playing on Monday.

José Miguel González Martín del Campo, ‘Michel’ is a former Real Madrid player that won fifteen titles during his career at the Madrilenian club. He debuted at the first team during the year 1981 and retired in 1997 at Atletico Celaya in Mexico. Then he was a commentator for Televisión Española (TVE), and for the summer of 2005 he debuted as the coach of another Madrilenian club, Rayo Vallecano at Segunda División B.

The Madrid-born manager didn’t achieve the promotion to Segunda and left his job at the end of that year, this in order to take control of Real Madrid’s B squad (Real Madrid Castilla). After one year there, he was promoted to the role of director of the youth teams, job that he left a couple of years later after a confrontation with ex-president Ramón Calderón. Then he signed for Getafe as the substitute for Victor Muñoz and barely achieved the permanence at the last matchday of the season 2008/09. Things were better from him in the next year as his team was one of the revelations clinching a spot for the UEFA Europa League. This is the fourth confrontation of Michel against Miguel Angel Lotina, both coaches have won one game and the remaining match was a 1-1 draw at the Riazor (season 08/09).

Depor’s coach gave a press conference on Sunday; he was showing his confidence in his squad ahead of the clash with Getafe, “I want to win, but my faith is so strong that I won’t be nervous if we lose. If we win we will be more than content and my wife will surely give me more food for the dinner.”

Later, he was talking of the responsibility to score the goals, “We want goals: We always say that if we are missing the goals is for the strikers, but if you look at the list of scorers on yesterday’s games you will realize that the midfielders have also scored. The same goes for the defenders; we all are compromised in attack, not only the strikers.”

There is the doubt on who will be the playmaker in the game, but Lotina just increased these doubts as he said that “We might have changes.” An without confirming any name in the starting squad. About Guardado, the coach confirmed that the Mexican will be a starter if he passes a late test on Monday. Asked about Aranzubia, he said that the keeper is “each day closer to return.”

Lotina was also showing his respect for the rival, “Getafe is playing fine, last year they made a great season and now are showing a solid level. Soldado and Pedro León have left the club, and they need time in order to see what they have won or lost with the new signings. We can’t know for sure with just two matches in the calendar.”

Finally, Depor’s coach isn’t happy with the fact of been playing a liga match on Monday, “It’s weird. Yesterday I had the sensation that it was Friday and today Saturday, but it will be the same as the game starts. We are starting a week that in which we will play three matches and practically it will be a week of six days. The teams that played yesterday have two more days for the rest, and in six days that’s a lot of time. We weren’t lucky on that.”

Getafe’s coach gave a press conference on Saturday, he started analyzing the offensive game of Deportivo, “We see them with the glass half full, I've seen that they haven´t allowed a goal, also that they try to play good football and Lotina has changed a bit his idea of the game. But they are always looking to have the ball possession. Their midfield is designed to attack by the wings, with two wingers and two playmakers with variety. It’s a team that if you let them, it has plenty of capacity. It is also a disciplined squad as all the teams of Lotina."

Talking of Getafe, the Madrilenian was saying that, despite playing in midweek, his players are physically fit for this match, “The players are fine, as can be seen in the second parts. Yes we have to put special emphasis on seeing the players knowing how to translate the things from the training, which means a very serious task, very important, and we are optimistic on this game. We want to see them playing as they train. Physically we have enough squad to do the mixing and obtain the optimal results."

He also explained the injury cases at his team, “We have Pablo Pintos, who should join the group tomorrow [Sunday]. Manu (Del Moral) has some issues, also Arizmendi, and Rafa, who has a damaged ankle. We will see their cases during the last training and then we will make the list. About Gavilán, the doctor told me that we will recover him until the next pause in la liga.”

One of the inquiries was related to the fact that on Saturday he was training with his goalkeepers playing as central defenders, "It's normal, because we don’t want to see the goalkeepers only worried in defending, as when they put you at the school on the goal just because you were the fat boy. We want to see them defending, because they were born for this, and this is the main function on their position, but we also want to see them playing, because we want the defenders to be involved in the offensive game. If we involve the forwards in the defensive tasks, then it’s exactly the same for the goalkeepers. And I notice they are very happy to defend, but I also want to see them happy playing in offense. In the end we are eleven players including the goalkeeper to take the ball possession.”

Finally, Michel was showing his discomfort for been playing on Monday, ”I don’t like it, but since we need to give some days for the rest… Today is a wonderful day, also tomorrow, let’s see on Monday, but it should be the day for the lord. Now we have liga on Monday, Tuesday, again on Wednesday, Thursday, then Segunda matches… so… well, we must feel used to it, though we prefer to play on Thursdays.”
